Great "Barcelona" type of player, doubt he'd be anywhere near that level at another club with a different approach to football.

It's too early to tell but I think I underestimated both his ability and how he could improve the team when we signed him. I'll wait until he has played a respectable amount of games to fully analyze just how much we needed a player like him.

Apparently 28 is old for a CB so he ain't got much left..

I don't think I agree with the opinion that Luiz makes up for what he lacks as a CB with his offensive skills. Despite his rashness, a few careless fouls and the rare concentration lapse I think he is an excellent defender and could hold his own in a team even without considering what he offers up-front.

Love his passion.

No matter how many mistakes he makes Luiz is just a wonderful footballer. I found the 2nd half a bit more boring than the first one despite the goals but a drop of pace was expected. I could notice in the second half the link-up between Cole and Mata that BlueHeart mentioned, a few more halfs of football between them and our left hand-side has the potential to be more devastating than in late 09/10. Anelka was excellent and Lamps was more or less solid. If I had to pick one player who didn't perform as good as the others it would be Bosingwa for giving the ball away a few times and never really made me feel safe.

Juan Mata. Nevermind scoring a goal, he is just a class apart at everything he does.

The goals are coming from open play and are a result of a team-work. I can't possibly overstate what an improvement the current situation is over last season.

Malouda has generally been OK, he even put in some balls for Torres but he seems too one-footed to play centrally.

Entertaining half although I can't say we were firmly in control. Wonder how many of the players will keep up with this frentic pace. Expect Anelka and Kalou to get some minutes in the second half.

Sturridge is pushed way too wide on the right and can't do much there.
