I've not really followed this case due to a lack of interest but are we really considering taking the armband from a man who means to the club as much as John Terry for the sake of a message?
It's not even a question of confidence and finishing now, as people have pointed out he barely makes runs anymore and looks as lazy as a player could be. While the fact that he gets roughly 10 minutes against tired opposition could explain his inability to find form it does not in anyway excuse his workrate. You didn't see Danny having that attitude when he was getting the same treatment from Carletto last season.
I apologise for bothering. That's where we disagree. While I couldn't possibly defend the performance, we looked more than capable of taking the 3 points with us, and would have had it not been for an individual mistake.
I did expect him to be way behind the top keepers of the league but not 2nd to last. As always, stats do not tell the full story but Petr has this season at times been well below what is required of a keeper at a top club.
-4 vs -2 according to my calculations... Formations are just numbers ; ) Not really the question. Getting as far in the competition as possible is very important in terms of status(=sponsorships) and CL revenue (tickets included)..
Preparing all age groups of players for a very specific football style is as important as having the ability to offer league football within the club structure. La Masia produces not only great players but mostly players very good for the Barcelona style.
