Mikel is only going to be better with experience but his positioning is still quite poor and nowhere near the standard a Chelsea starter should have.He's a decent central midfielder but not an extraordinary defensive midfielder.Barcelona's cheater Sergio Busquets does a better job at defending than Mikel and has shown signs of a world class DM.

I'm surprised his release hasn't been announced yet.I'm even more surprised by the fact that Ancelotti mentioned him alongside Cech, Alex and Bosingwa,as far as I know he shouldn't be considered member of the squad if he's to play elsewhere this season.

I believe this is the first transfer Ancelotti actually requested,we'll see how this will work out.

I'm curious about whether or not we will sign a striker. On the one hand,Ancelotti was quoted saying So he's either really happy with what he's got or thinks that buying another striker would be a waste. On the other hand Santos yesterdays officially revealed that we made a bid for Neymar,which makes what Ancelotti said sound like lies. I think the people at our club may force players on Ancelotti and I'm not sure if he does have that much say in our transfers(which invalidates the "trust our manager argument") We have forced players on our managers before(Ballack,Shevchenko) and I don't think Ancelotti had that much power in Milan,I know for fact that Ronaldinho's transfer wasn't his wish.

We won the double with some of those "average" players. Not all of them are starting XI material but they benefit our squad depth and step their game up when needed.They're also much better than the subs Manure and L'Arse have.
