This. The midfield without Kante was doing the job, Kova and Jorgi were running riots through opositions' midfields but Lamps decided to brake their combo and since then we are hit and miss.

It's more the defending than the defenders.Lampard is ruining the good work in the last 18 months with some of his decisions. Not playing Jorginho and instead playing Kante there means the year with Sarri is meaningless.

Agree 100% and probably everyone in this forum can see it too. And my bad - he played less than 60 minutes against Villa. Rotating is one thing but not starting your best player who can dictate the tempo for a second time in a week is worrying.

I'm glad we are going to Wembley but the performance was average. Barkley's footballing IQ is very low but I'm afraid that Lamps will be satisfied to see him score. Kovacic should definitely be the first name on the starting sheet as some of you mentioned.Kante in front of the CBs doesnt give us any control on the game and I don't like the way Frank persists with him since the restart. We need to settle our back 4 and the midfield before buying another forward. As much as I like Havertz, we have far bigger problems.The way we set up and play these days is very different from Lampard's first 3 months here. I feel like he is not sure what to do with our midfielders.

I don't like Barkley at all but I can't deny - the lad knows how to position himself and find the net.

Pulisic and Kovacic should definitely be starters next season.

Zouma makes his every touch on the ball looking like a real struggle.

Lampard should work a lot on the build-up under pressure. We have regressed quite a bit in this aspect under him.

Mount should learn to not rush things sometimes, it's his biggest weakness IMO. I like the result but the goal was a present by Mendy.Hope this is the last time we look like that against them. No way to compete with them in the long term if we admit they are superior.

Barkley is not good enough IMO but Lampard seems to rate him highly. Without Jorginho and with them pressing us very high, I'm not an optimist.

We have zero creativity. Pass the ball to the full-backs/wingers and then cross it hopelessly.Nothing different, no attempts to penetrate from the middle, just nothing.

Would have loved to see Pulisic. On the other hand, we have him, Abraham, and CHO all on the bench and all with a point to prove. We have a deep squad and the added subs can be a real advantage.

Mount should not be a starter come next season.The ability to press is valuable but there are a lot more qualities needed to be at the very top.Sadly, I can't see Lampard dropping him.

Lampard should have dropped this 3 at-the-back formation after the win against Tottenham. This is the third time this season that he is overusing it and the other two did not end well for us.

Too much safe passing,too little of a threat,no penetration,absolutely nothing.Kovacic has been our best player in October and November and yet is still benched!?The Jorgi-Mateo combo was the force behind our 6 games winning run and suddenly Frank decided not to keep on using it. We are solid defensively since Azpi moved on the left and Kante returned from the injury but attacking wise we are toothless.We only rely on individual quality lately,nothing has left of the free-flowing football we were playing till November. Absolutely gutted!

This formation with the three CBs is useful against the good teams but IMO too little of a threat against the others.We use two full-backs as wing-backs and neither of them is good attacking wise. Kante and Jorginho are not creative types,CHO is suspect at best and also overhyped,Willian can be a world beater but most of the time offers little to nothing and Tammy is not consistent. The 6-games unbeaten run was IMO mostly thanks to the Jorgi-Kova combo.The moment Kante recovered from injury and made it back to the starting 11,it all went downhill. Lampard has a lot to learn - one of the things being that a formation can work wonders against a particular team but not against the other ones.We failed to beat Valencia with the three CBs,we were not that convicing away to Lille with the same formation and today is another example that we are toothless against lesser teams using this formation.

We need two new CB.Zouma and Tomori can’t pass the ball vertically because of their inabilities.Even when one of the full-backs was free they couldn’t make the lob pass.It was frustrating to watch them pass the ball casually between one another while we desperately needed a goal.

Oir defence is killing us. Tomori and Zouma are very sloppy on the ball and Alonso is another weak link.
