Jim Ratcliffe, billionaire and boss of the Reds, now wants to get the club back on track with a firm hand and strict measures and is facing headwind from the fans. Ruben Amorim took up his post at Manchester United in November as the great savior. The Portuguese coach had previously shaped an extremely successful era at Sporting Lisbon, winning two championships and two trophies in four years. "United is not currently one of the elite and should actually be one of the best soccer clubs in the world. It certainly was under Alex Ferguson. Amorim has already been told that his transfer budget is limited. The solution: bring in cheaper but better players. To achieve this, the scouting system is to be overhauled. Scouting from the last century "We're still in the last century," says the United boss. "And until we're as good as everyone else in the world, it's not good enough for Manchester United. We have to have the best scouting in the world. Data analysis goes hand in hand with scouting. But it doesn't really exist at United."
