  1. As a fan, I fuckin' love midweek matches. I get tired of waiting 6-7 days for a match. I love this short turnaround every once in a while. 3-1. Seems like a pattern to dominate the opening, let whoever we're playing come back and make a big push for the win. Pedro, Alonso, Costa - Afobe
  2. Didn't get to see the match, just saw the goals. Great passing for the first goal, but Caballero should have saved the shot. Wow Courtois. That was a horrific giveaway. I was speechless when I saw that. Good thing that goal didn't cost us points. Luckily Hazard scored on the rebound from the penalty. I really miss the days of a reliable Lampard penalty. Three points from a big match. Feels great to be one step closer to the title.
  3. I don't disagree with the corporations not wanting to attach themselves to his videos. I do disagree with YouTube deciding what is fair to post and what isn't and I disagree with how the WSJ went straight for the labeling of him as a Nazi.
  4. That's something I can't agree with. Just because someone makes jokes about a group doesn't mean they hate the group. South Park's creators aren't anti-Semitic because one of their characters constantly makes jokes about Jews. Stand up comedians make jokes about groups of people all the time, yet they're typically some of the more liberal and hate-less people with access to a microphone. There's a difference between making fun of something and hating something. What Pewdiepie did was in poor taste, but it was not anti-semitic. He wasn't advocating neo-Nazi views. The WSJ took everything out of context. Instead of looking at how the jokes/whatever were used, they just said, "Here's all the times he's looked like a Nazi! Look! He's a Nazi!" with no regard to context. It's odd that I'll say "F Milo" but defend Pewdiepie, but I'd argue the difference is that one is trying to be funny (though poor taste and overall just bad comedy), the other was just intentionally being combative.
  5. Except for they're not always right and sometimes it's blatant. Pewdiepie is the perfect example. The WSJ pretty much ran a hit on him by misreprenting the videos he posted in order to make him look like an anti-Semite.
  6. An increase in accessibility requires an increase in the responsibility to verify credibility. Just because it's on YouTube doesn't mean it's correct just like just because it's on CNN doesn't mean it's correct. There's a reason schools don't accept Wikipedia as a source for information. There's a reason research needs to be verified. IMO, the problem isn't solely the people peddling false news and conspiracy. It's also the people who just want to digest what they agree with and don't bother to do any real research on their own. Part of the reason for that is we're bombarded with too much information throughout our daily lives. But taking a YouTube video as gospel is flawed at best.
  7. Yeah they're well within their rights to do so. I'm just personally always in favor of letting speech/art/whatever be allowed, regardless of content. Hate speech is more objectionable, but in terms of YouTube, you can just not watch the video. If someone is going to be dangerously influenced by a YouTube video, they will find other ways to get that influence. There will always be an outlet.
  8. It's up to advertisers to not want to display for videos but I don't like Google policing political and religious views.
  9. No fight. No heart. Arsenal have loads of talent, but my god, it's laughable how they have absolutely no nerve.
  10. Yep, but hey, at least I can look at myself and acknowledge I'm just as bad as everyone else here
  11. Not always the case, but I've seen a lot of confirmation bias on here and other places. I myself have been guilty of it multiple times here alone.
  12. People have their biases and want to confirm them. Someone who doesn't like a player will ignore the 90 things he does right and focus on the 10 things he does wrong. And it works the other way as well. I thought Pedro was great as well. He's become one of the most important players on this team in terms of making the system work.
  13. It doesn't seem like the team has a whole lot of confidence either. It doesn't seem like he gets many passes. It could be lack of passing from the rest of the team or he's just not in the positions he should be to receive the ball.
  14. People on hear moan when we win 5-0. "We could have had more goals if X just didn't mess up his chance! We need to replace him this summer!"
  15. It's still going on in some cases, like Spain's away shirt.
  16. Anyone see Pulis in his pre-match interview? Said something to the effect of "complaining about injuries? They've got something like 200 million pounds in that team. I doubt anyone will be shedding a tear."
  17. Shambolic display? FFS, get a grip. Chelsea absolutely dominated this match. They just couldn't get it in the net. Without a 90 second lapse in defending, the team would be leaving the pitch with all three points. The had a penalty denied, shit refereeing, and have had to attack 11 men in front of the ball all match. Finishing was poor, but they've looked so much better in this loss than they have in some wins.
  18. People who throw shit at the wall when we're still in first place, become a Fulham fan please and stay away.
  19. As soon as it was scored, I knew we'd be in for a tough rest of the match. This isn't anything new. I don't know why people are surprised/upset. I still think we'll win the match. Everything this team has done throughout the season makes me believe that.
  20. City's has supposedly been 'leaked'. If that's true, looks like Nike's second AeroSwift shirt got rid of the darker sleeves.
  21. I disagree but I get why you would think that way. I don't blame supporters for that. I just prefer a player to say anything that's on their mind.
  22. The past few weeks, I've been thinking about Pedro as a false 9. He's more direct than Hazard is and looks more likely to pull up and take the shot if given the space. Michy has obviously not impressed Conte enough to have any sort of chance st playing unless we're winning and at this point in the season, Conte is more likely to make a defensive sub than give Michy minutes.
  23. Sounds like something a Belgian would say. Being completely honest in an answer and getting it blown up. Should he say something else to keep people happy? Probably, but he's not saying he wants to leave.
  24. Oof, that's a bad one for Coleman. I thought it was pretty funny how Martin O'Neil confirmed he had a broken leg. REALLY!? No shit! Bale had a really bad tackle as well. He was lucky he wasn't sent off.
  25. I could be wrong but I believe religion is just the means to the end. You take someone that is searching for answers and give them an answer, they're going to act out if they're convinced well enough and are mentally unstable enough.
