  1. Look Chrstian ethics were comparable to the Taliban - up until the 19th century and beyond. The ancients did not have them but they were not gay. Homosexuality was often puished by death.
  2. I have been to Thebes. They still have streets named after their ancient generals, such as "the street of the oblique phalanx". Thinking they had good souvlakis like the famous Levadia nearrby has I ordered from a restaurant but they were tiny ones, refirgerated. The story about them being gay soldiers is however a fantasy. Love and companionship is a motto in everyone's army - does n't mean they are gay.
  3. True, In Greek 20th century history there are two dark events resembling October 7. The 1974 Turkish invasion of Cyprus. For a number of strange reasons we were unable to react. Before that in 1923 when Mussolini sent the Italian fleet to bombard Corfu and killed many people. Again Greece was in no position to react. Those were shameful events. If we could reverse time we would surely have flattened some enemy cities. Israel does that and any Israel would do the same.
  4. Sounds strange but can be as you say. But that makes the Alphonse story even more bizarre. The artist Bost has died. I might have asked him
  5. UK in 1957 in fact (the Wolfenden Committee). But if Gr decriminalised in 1951, then UK doing the same in 1957 could n't be the reason for the cartoons. What is their explanation ? There is a whole book with Alphonse.
  6. Look they would n't have children if they were gay - there would n't be a country named Gr today
  7. They were not like xians. Fanatical xians were like Taliban. Have you heard of Augustin of Florina (Lerin to the slavs) ? Probably not but a famous personality here. Bishop Augustin died in 2010. He was an opponent of the military junta of 1967 but at the same time a true fanatic. He preached Taliban like laws - except for the burka which is unchristian. Everything else he said was taliban. But the ancients were loose. This does n't make them gay. (*) the most fanatical person I have met was my head at school, the also famous "Dilliger" - a distinguished mathematician but he even banned fizzy drinks - only the blue orange drink was allowed in the schoold canteen - fizzy was satanic
  8. Paederast (*) was what I said, a school tutor. The meaning it has now came about later. While the ancients were certainly less moralistic than the christians there is no proof of gays in ancient Greece. Socrates was accused of being gay and that was one of the reasons they sentenced him to death. Meanwhile why the Greeks call the English gay ? I searched, nobody knows. (*) paedion = child, erastis = lover (but carer rather to the ancients)
  9. My issue is his distribution. If he corrects that then he is ok. The really bad one we had was the one who replaced Czech in the semi against Atletico in 2014 - costed us an additional champions league title.
  10. It was not. It is a fairytale. The early Christians invented that in order to close down the ethnic, dodecatheist, schools. While that was necessary to kill paganism and heresies it was a lie. Infact the word "paederast" we use so freely today to describe the adolescent gobbers was just a common word and it meant "children tutor". Your college tutor was a "paederast" to the ancients. This lie was carried forward by the nazi philosopher Falmeraier and also by Stalin who -before the war- was very much antigreek. For the Greeks or some Greeks the typical gays are the Englishmen. I really don't know since when and why as it is only in Greece they say that. Caricatures tend to be international but this is only in Greece. Hers is a famous cartoon by artist Bost, from 1958 during the Cyprus EOKA events. The man playing the mandolin is a Turk and the soldier is Alphonse.
  11. The offensive use of this technology by the U.S. would, naturally, spur its proliferation and normalize it as a tool for all governments. “What’s notable about this technology is that it is purely of a deceptive nature,” said Heidy Khlaaf, chief AI scientist at the AI Now Institute. “There are no legitimate use cases besides deception, and it is concerning to see the U.S. military lean into a use of a technology they have themselves warned against. This will only embolden other militaries or adversaries to do the same, leading to a society where it is increasingly difficult to ascertain truth from fiction and muddling the geopolitical sphere.” Both Russia and China have been caught using deepfaked video and user avatars in their online propaganda efforts, prompting the State Department to announce an international “Framework to Counter Foreign State Information Manipulation” in January. “Foreign information manipulation and interference is a national security threat to the United States as well as to its allies and partners,” a State Department press release said. “Authoritarian governments use information manipulation to shred the fabric of free and democratic societies.” SOCOM’s interest in deepfakes is part of a fundamental tension within the U.S. government, said Daniel Byman, a professor of security studies at Georgetown University and a member of the State Department’s International Security Advisory Board. “Much of the U.S. government has a strong interest in the public believing that the government consistently puts out truthful (to the best of knowledge) information and is not deliberately deceiving people,” he explained, while other branches are tasked with deception. “So there is a legitimate concern that the U.S. will be seen as hypocritical,” Byman added. “I’m also concerned about the impact on domestic trust in government — will segments of the U.S. people, in general, become more suspicious of information from the government?” So even the time honoured profession of internet troll goes out of the window ? And will those AI entities also become customers to buy my e-books ?
  12. You are daydreaming. In the history of Panathinaikos were some political animals of importance: Messaris - Destounis left Kamaras - centrist Linoxylakis - Antoniadis con-lib but they are the team of the juntist right. Their all time superstar Domazos ? Married on the 1st of May 1967 to legend pop singer Vicky Moscholiou. 9 days after the dictatorship was declared (n.b. 21 April 1967). Best man was Ioannis Ladas a junta colonel, tha hard liner. 9 days after the junta gets to know the colonels whom we did n't know before and also become friends ! The team has acquired the name "bird team" after the symbol of the dictatorship, the phoenix reborn from his ashes. Tha fans are likewise notorious bird lovers - everyone knows. When I went to the army I did n't want anyone to imagine I was a commie, as the second bureau does n't like these things. So in basic training I declared myself a supporter of Panathinaikos. It was the month of April so one asks me what matches of Panathinaikos you watched this year ? I had watched only two matches - I was in England and returned to be called up. I had watched AEK Athens v. Herakles Salonika and Ethnikos Piraeus v. AEK. On the day of Ethnikos v. AEK, Panathinaikos was playing at home against Doxa Drama so I said to the other guy "I was against Doxa Drama". He says "in the torrential rain ? geroff", I say "yeah, in the rain, with an umbrella". He says ok, a few days later he returned and says "ok, I got it, you don't like the commies but you are b***dy AEK Athens". How he worked it out ? I did n't even talk to anyone else. Later his mum met with my mum and they talked, but that was later. As fortunes change I met this guy ten years after the army. He greeted me but he was very shy. I learned he had become Pasok ... Panathinaikos are also known for the Wembley scandal of 1971.. First they meet Everton. At Goodison park they draw 1-1. In the replay another draw 0-0 but go through on away goals. The referee of the replay match was a Frenchman called Elie, who favoured Panathinaikos although he did n't have the occasion to really slaughter Everton. Ten days after the match we see a picture of him in the Athens racecourse and a mini interview. He says "I like the races, you have such a nice racecourse so I decided to stay a bit more" ... You get it ... Incidentally in 1995 there was another such thing, involving a Paraguayan member of the international Olympics committee, voting at the time for the venue of Olympics 2004. This time I was frequenting the racecourse. As I was in the front lawn looking at the daisies, a cop I knew approaches me and he says "are you fast asleep ? the Paraguayan is here - inside they are tearing the walls !". What that meant ? To pay the Paraguayan they did not arrange for some super outsiders to win but for the ultra favourites of the press, race after race ! So that's why the others got air and were "tearing the walls". Small to tiny prices but as the Paraguayan man placed big stakes it was big money for him. So I took some advantage myself. Anyway back in 1971 there follows the notorious semi against Red Star Belgrade about which our friend NikkiCFC maybe can tell us more. These days however I 'm involved in a campaign to convince Panathinaikos supporters to sue Olympiakos Piraeus supporters for a slander they are guilty of. They suggest in the year 1942 Panathinaikos played a friendly against the German SS, occupying Greece. This is a lie. I went to the parliament's library and looked into the body of the occupation press. I looked for match report but also for announcement - lest the Germans lost and then censored the report. Nothing - that one is a lie. But the greens don't listen and are dragging their feet.
  13. You proposed the nonsense theory that gay-ism is congenital. I proved to you otherwise. (*) no offense to the city of Piraeus - it was a coincidence
  14. A match in which I was seated next to their hooligans gate and then made lewd gestures at them and they did n't dare do anything:
  15. There are phases of course. Before sacking Varoufakis and caving in or after ? Started life as 100% marxist - but always without the power of the gun necessary for communism and of course always at odds with the "original gate 21" who don't like anybody. After their "sommersault dive" in July 2015 they were marxist for coffee house talk purposes only and -effectively- waiting for the time to come to pass the government to Mitsotakis.
  16. Nosense. I watched again about the possibility of Sanchez making an early exit and covering Joners's path. He can't. There is a pool player (who ?) on the penalty spot, probably in offside position but Sanchez can't tell. If he makes an exit and the ball goes to that player the goalmouth is open. After the ball reaches Jones it cannot be his fault. No way. That James fcuked up the offside trap is evident however.
  17. That was certainly marxist as they come, but without the power to terminate elections. About old Pasok you can argue what they were - several posts above I posted a video.
  18. Some states. Today's most known terrorist sates are Hamash who rule Gaza, Iran, Taliban, North Korea. There may be some others.
  19. A terrorist is a terrorist is a terrorist. In Greece the nazis (westerners) were terrorists and killed many innocent people but the commies (non westerners) who followed on their footsteps were also terrorists performing mass executions - burning villages.
  20. Greece was ruled from 2015 to 2019. Also the early Papandreou governments of the eighties. Greek radio and tv company are silly people because BBC have a shop in which they are selling all their old goodies in cassetes, cds and they have nothing. So we don't have those priceless Pasok gems and the various youtube nerds show us after 2000 only - very very few from before. In the other countries they have strong opposition parties. In 2006 for example allied themselves with Lepen to vote against the euro-constitution. I never considered Sweden commie.
  21. It's replays I saw, not fast motion. Now when you say he oughta have moved when he saw the cross coming, he did n't but I 'm not sure it was that easy. You are blaming the wrong guy. Answer me who left Jones totally unmarked to make his run. If forwards were allowed such free space in the premier then matches would end with 20 goals apiece.
  22. One trend is to limit freedom of movement - and not only for dangerous elements but for everyody. Another trend is to control the flow of money - so no right to work unless the citizen has the ability to pay a sizeable threshold tax to the state. The marxist lefties like both as it <<may>> turn the tide to their favour. For example the night of brexit (23 June 2016) the left in Greece were celebrating, opening champagnes.
