Yeah agree with that, you can't blame Modric just because the whole team have struggled, I'm sure Modric would fit into any top team in the Premier League and regain his best form. Remember the Spanish League is totally different from the Premier League.. it all depends on where he's placed in the midfield and what his duties are! I suppose we could use him as a deep lying playmaker, who can sit behind Mata/Oscar and play the ball through the middle or out wide, which is what he can do well.. he can probably do a better job than Ramires at the moment because Ramires currently is having a bad run of games a la the Southampton game yesterday! The differences between Ramires and Modric, is that Ramires is quicker, yet Modric has much better ball control, and can pick out a good pass to the strikers! With Ramires, I feel sometimes, he uses his speed to poor use when he makes a run and just quickly gets into trouble!

I just plead to god that if we are first in line to get Falcao, we offer them Torres as part of any deal! He's worth "at least" £20m according to some reports I've read so that will knock some money off the price! We get a prolific striker, Torres gets to sod off home, everyone's a winner!

Well, this is my take on the game.... .....absolutely atrocious! I seriously can't believe we can't win at the Bridge anymore!! We get caught with our pants down against QPR, two big errors from Ivanovic results in us virtually on the brink against Swansea in the League Cup, and now we've squandered a 2-0 lead at home to Southampton! One thing that springs to mind in terms of our problems is we don't have enough leadership on the pitch.. and I know Lampard is captaining us and getting our valueable goals at the moment.. can't fault him at that, but JT can't return soon enough, because our defence at times is just all at sea without him there! No-one drives the players on before a match like Terry does. Also, what I found to be extremely offensive while watching the game, was that Benitez brought off Lampard, when he could have scored an all important winner (like he always does), and then replaces him with Torres, and sticks him on the right... THAT IS A COMPLETE INSULT! I mean, AVB last season made some silly changes during his time as manager, but Benitez just takes the piss.. literally! He KNOWS Lampard is our game changer, he KNOWS Torres is off form, why make a ridiculous change like that! It's just stupid! I was hoping that Benitez would go at the end of this season after his interim position finishes, but my heart keeps saying now, that he needs to be given the sack earlier than that because I don't think I can take any more of this bullshit! We've only one ONCE in SEVEN home games, and with every game we lose or draw at home, the pain is even more unbearable! SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE CHANGED NOW!! P.S. Currently, Benitez makes AVB look like Chelsea's manager of the decade!

I do hope he does get us to the Champions League next season, because if he doesn't, then it's goodbye Mourinho!

Unless we are signing Modric purposely to play in the CENTRE of midfield, and not as a playmaking role, .. we don't need him .. we've got Mata and Oscar to cover that area!

No it isn't his fault, you're right! All he's done is rotate the squad.. and one good thing he has done is help Torres come good again, in some way.. (not completely, but you get the jist).. he certainly wasn't any decent in the Swansea game though! .. I think a lot of supporters hold so much of a grudge on Benitez just because he managed Liverpool and because he said negative things about Chelsea during his time there! Some people just need to accept that he's our manager and move on! Yes I hate Rafa and I want RDM back, but none of us on this forum run the club. It's up to our board to make the decisions (which always seem to be shit ones anyway).. .. even so, Rafa is only here until the end of the season anyway .. hopefully this summer, either Jose will come home, or we'll get Guardiola!

I seriously don't know what to say about this result, I really don't! Funny how the 8-0 thrashing of Villa in the Premier League still stands as the ONLY home game we've seen goals scored at home under Benitez in FIVE matches! But I agree with LDN Blue.. much as a majority of you guys like to call for his head, it's not Rafa's fault by any means!

Seeing Liverpool losing and bottom of the Premier League puts a smile on my face, but I hate it when Arsenal win, because all their fans turn big headed when they do! "Oh we're gunna dominate everyone and win the league" when all they've done really, is beat a weak, mediocre Liverpool side! What we should have done, immediately after the sending off was put Essien on, and stick him at right back, maybe take Ramires off... I only say Essien just because he s capable of playing anywhere along the back! He's done it before!

Well, what to say about that monstrosity of a game? First of all, I'd just like to apologise that I have been away from here for a while! Secondly, I'd like to blame Ivanovic for costing us the game! A player who leads others by example, has to go and lunge in with that tackle! Thirdly, Mikel has to go! I don't like his slow reaction time on the ball. He was clearly the weak point in our midfield.. sadly, City capitalised on that, and they punished us time again.. even when Ivanovic was on the pitch! Fourthly... this game has clearly proved that we need a right back! I do hope we get that deal in place for Azpilicueta because other than Ferreira, we don't have any recognised right back! FIFTHLY ... what ever happened to that defensive tactic that worked in Barcelona after going a man down?

Just a curious question here: Has 'anyone' thought at all, that he could 'potentially' need a work permit to sign for us?? Or has he attained the required number of caps for Brazil for that to be unapplicable??

I keep thinking to myself that this guy is an attacking midfielder. He's not though, he's more of the Lampard role.. likes moving off the ball, likes getting into space and sometimes gets back! If this guy plays any good for us.. I have a feeling players like Mikel and Essien could be saying their goodbyes!

I don't think the possibility of losing Maicon to Madrid is a huge blow.. there are other decent right backs out there, and I agree with YuriZhirkov, Azpilicueta is someone we should focus our attention on.. we could snatch Debuchy from under Newcastle's noses but he's not the youngest right back available! I actually read one blog about us trying to sign Danny Simpson!!

I don't think we have remotely a chance of signing him! If there's any club who can afford him, it will be City! But they really don't need him, whereas we, on the other hand, are trying to look for a Drogba replacement! City have Aguero, Balotelli, Dzeko and Tevez in a rotation system.. not certain that would suit van Persie to be honest... and then of course, you have Real Madrid, Barcelona et al, who will not want to see a player like him pass in the transfer market!
