What an absolute twat Rooney is, he could have saved so much aggro by announcing he wanted to leave at the end of last season.. suddenly, he changes his mind right at the end of the transfer window.. ..we could have signed him even before pre-season.. ..guess I'll have to continue calling him Shrek! I bet we'll end up getting Eto'o now, just to rub more salt into the wounds. Nah sod that.. get Jackson Martinez or Karim Benzema!

Mata is not 100% fit at the moment.. you can probably say the same about David Luiz as well.. both picked up injuries during pre-season, so it would be silly to start them both while fitness for them is not at their best.

Better still, how about Benitez being appointed as Chief Executive, and he offers Torres a new 5-year-deal "behind Mourinho's back!" I'd rather see all that happen than see us sign Rooney...... at the expense of Juan Mata! Moral: don't sell our back to back player of the season.. end of!

My guess is that he will probably stay. The way he played against us was sensational, particularly when under the cosh of all the speculation.. otherwise he wouldn't have gotten back to tackle Ramires all the way from deep and immediately start a United attack.. ..if he would have deliberately scored an own goal.. there would have been cause for concern! it's all up to Rooney though!

And yet he would have probably been the better player to start the game.. right?

Am I the only one to think that Torres actually played well when he came on?? There were times during his tenure on the pitch where he did a lot of closing down on United's defenders, forcing throw-ins and free kicks. Yeah he was average, but he wasn't terrible! Just because you don't score to change a game doesn't mean you played poorly. *waits for all the counter posts*

It will most probably be Moses, Ba and Mikel that leave before the window closes. Maybe Essien could get shown the door. Moses is probably the player worth keeping just because of the homegrown rule, but neither of the players mentioned above are needed... Mikel is slow and clumsy on the ball in tight situations and Ba just feels lazy up front.

And I will seriously delete my gaming channel of two years if we do sign Bale... I am that confident we won't be the team that signs him! Real Madrid will get him eventually.. it's just taking longer to strike a deal between both clubs because we stole Willian from them, and now they're looking for other players.

After the episode with us and stealing Willian off their wishlist.. I highly doubt they would allow us to nick Bale too.. ..and anyway, Bale isn't needed since we already have a swarm of midfield options at our disposal!

I really hope we don't get him! ... I hope another club comes in with a better offer and they swoop him away. We'll be trying to sign Kaka when he turns 40 next.

I'm not saying you're wrong about that.. we all know Suarez can be a clueless twat at times.. what I'm saying is.. if Rooney is an absolute no go, Suarez is a good option! The guy is talented enough to solve our strike problems. Better option than "past it" Eto'o anyway! I would prefer Jackson Martinez from Porto myself though.. or possibly Luiz Adriano from Shakhtar!

This was always going to be a tough venue to get a result... with or without Fergie for them. Today's performance means nothing compared to the fact that we have cleaned up a tidy goalless draw away to United early in the season. I'm satisfied. Had we have gone into the game on the back of two defeats and drawn, I would have been fuming.. but we're top of the table after three games, with 7 points. Mourinho's idea of putting Schurrle up front was something of a head scratcher though.. it has to be said.. have no idea why he decided to do that!

You know what, I'm at the stage where I simply couldn't give a shit about Rooney anymore. If he stays.. good for him! We can win more trophies with the players we've got... and we will keep Mata!
