In your eyes, what makes him a "perfectly good" backup player? He has been quite awful in every game he played. Shaky, weak passing, offer nothing offensively, bad tackles. He is super young, I don't want to write him off, but it's certainly underwhelming what he has done so far, for someone like me who didn't watch him at Ajax I don't see yet what was the hype and price tag about.
