The atmosphere for this game was absolutely electric. This is the one game in my lifetime I truly wish I had been in attendance for. Right after the death of Lamps' mom, Pat, was a game that we had to win to stay in contention for the league, against league leaders United. Anything other than a win would practically give United the league, but Michael Ballack had other ideas on a beautiful day at the Bridge.

Chelsea (4-3-3): Cech; Ferreira (Anelka 65), Terry ©, Carvalho, A Cole; Essien, Makelele, Ballack; J Cole (Makelele 86), Drogba, Kalou (Shevchenko 80).

Man United (4-3-3): Van der Sar; Brown, Ferdinand, Vidic (Hargreaves 14), Silvestre; Fletcher, Anderson (O'Shea 64), Carrick; Nani, Rooney (Ronaldo 63), Giggs.

Even though we never went on to win the title that year it was a great win, one of my favourite of recent times. It was also in my opinion Ballacks most influential game as a Chelsea player. I remember totally losing it when i saw ball hit the net on the penalty. Also thought it was brilliant the way the United players were moaning at the end, they made themselves looks like right dicks. But what made that game for me.... Sheva's clearence off the line in injury time. Ha Ha... classic.

Definitely one of the greatest victories, prefer beating United to anyone -even the murderers. Incidentally 13 years ago yesterday we beat the bindippers 4-2 in THAT cup game

What a great day, beautiful weather & top atmosphere.

Infact is was great week because it was sandwiched between the 2 CL semis.
