Odoi looks like he has shrunk. He doesnt look half the player he was before his injury. He had defenders on ice but now they just stand him up. Worrying signs.

Would wait till he is given a proper run.

With Rudiger you are all acting like he was the second coming of Christ. The same hopes were put on Kante. 'With Kante back, our defensive issues will be solved.'
I agree, I want Rudiger back asap but the main work must be done from the top, from Lampard and his team, to actually work on the defense and the whole organization. There is zero organization in terms of the defense. Just Rudiger being back will not solve it.
We need a proper defense coach who will 100% work with the defenders.
Rüdiger at least can make simple passes, which is something Zouma can't

Have you forgotten Luiz's defensive errors in his time here? Have you not seen Luiz at Arsenal?

He had his lapses but come on his still better than Zouma. He at least is comfortable playing out from the back. That was one of our strengths last season and its effects are showing, surely Kepa,s regression in terms of passing has to do with playing with technically inferior players like Zouma. Like Hazard said earlier that pass today he made was an anticipatory pass a ball playing defended should be on the move Zouma is not good enough in that regard

No way Luiz had his faults but he was never a clown like Zouma. Zouma has poorntechnic, and poor positioning Luiz's flaws were not too detrimental to the team the way Zouma's flaws clearly are

Are you saying Luiz doesn't have poor positioning?

I said DEFENSIVELY in my initial reply.

Defensively, Luiz might even be worse than Zouma in our un-organized defence!

We are shit right now but all it takes are two wins and people will go back to loving lamps and players blah blah

We should have won but that Kepa error cost the entire team. Lamps cant do fucking nothing if GK creates these situations.

And Everton played with their hearts out. They were shit this season but they absolutely have a quality side with many good players. Changing manager and fighting to prove has been the case forever and we were in for a strong challenge.

People talking about Luiz must not have been paying attention this season. He's been every bit as poor as Zouma. They're equally bad as defenders. But where Luiz differs is he doesn't panic with the ball under pressure like Zouma does.

We need a cool head back there.

The overreaction on here is comical.

Ok so I didn't see the game- but we all knew what was coming. The Everton performance of the season.

We just have to face facts - we cannot win every game with this team.

Mistakes will happen and as long as we and the manager learns from it - all good.

Some of you are so fucking fickle it's embarrassing.

It doesn't matter where we finish this season, we are building for the future - it will take 2 or 3 seasons, like it did for Klopp or at least 2 seasons for Pep and you expect Lampard to magically shorten this time? Seriously, have a word with yourself.

The future is bright, the future is blue.

This. This. And so much this.

What was the position that we were expected to get this season? Top 4? No one gave us a shot in hell. Top 6? Maybe. Top 10. Yes pretty much this.

We have played well so far, but this season was always going to be a learning curve. Obviously we were going to have a hard spell, what the fuck did people expect? We were actually in a title race?

This season was always about the positives, to see if these youngsters were the real deal, which they are. And then to build on it. People here are so entitled and plastic, I just can't believe it.

Someone said "I won't watch a match till we buy a new CB" fuck you. Go and fuck yourself.

We need to get behind the tram and Frank. Yes he got a couple of things wrong today, but all of this is as much a learning curve for him as for the players.

Ktbffh.

I disagree that Lampard can do nothing if a goalkeeper makes stupid mistakes. You simply replace him to wake the fuck up. It is not like we would field Hilario. Players get dropped when they underperform and cost the team points. Goalies should be no exceptions. Especially when you have someone who has been a ticking bomb lately.

Comparing Luiz and Zouma is pointless because they are complete opposite as players. And the only reason why Zouma gets game time is because he's tall and strong and has that big jump AC and Tomori just don't have. Once we get Rudiger back I expect Zouma to be on the bench

Lampard essentially ruined a back line that already built some sort of understanding. He created unbalance by shoe horning Dave at LB just because he wears the arm band. He then dropped Tomori for god knows why, for Christensen because 'Morris rates him'. All at the same time, taking Zouma, who is very suspect positionally, to play on the other side. Something Rio Ferdinand even said he had a difficult time doing.

That's what lost us the game, and it was bloody amateur from Lampard. I would fucking hope he learns from this calamity.

this is pure gaslighting IMHO

we are so short of quality in the back four

you cannot paper over that shit

and Lamps is being exposed with horrific team selections and subs week after week

Kepa is a goddman mess

we are one loss away from crashing out of the CL in a WEAK group

these are SHIT teams we are losing to

we have FOUR clean sheets out of 25 games

no Chels team has given up more goals now in the first 16 games of an EPL season

we cannot beat top teams and now he are getting beaten by dregs

to say it is all rainbows and unicorns is utter bollocks

and it has fuckall to do with being fickle, we want a WINNING TEAM

These are obvious Things but Lamps does Not want to bench Azpi

Not defending Azpi here but as @Superblue_1986 mentioned, none of our defensive options right now are great - in this case at LB. Alonso is just damn straight bad and slow. Emerson is inconsistent, one game he looks fine and the next he looks straight up bad (e.g. Man City away recently). Lampard is trying to patch things up for now - I think he's desperate for a new LB in January - and he's gone with Azpi who has the most "defensive credit" in the team.

The one thing maybe you can criticize Lampard for is changing the backline too often rather than trying to make sure the players learn from their errors and do better next game. It feels like if a player makes a mistake, then he's out of the next game (e.g. Emerson).

I don't want to criticize Frank much. It's just time now that he starts getting ruthless with certain players.

And he's got to drop Mount for a bit. Jorginho is our key man in midfield and we need his calmness and control.
