For next season I feel comfortable with Kepa, James, Rudiger, two of Kante/Kovacic/Jorginho, CHO/Pulisic (maybe both if they keep progressing nicely) being starters. And Abraham but we need new top striker regardless. So new CB, LB, RW, CF for me. Would like us to play with Pulisic as AM. Sancho and CHO as wingers.

Pulisic should be a left winger, Odoi right (mainly due to his chemistry with Reece) while Jadon if he signs should switch between both (he does it at Dortmund) depending on which of the other is playing.

Wolves have gone 2-0 down at Southampton. Maybe we should start fearing Southampton in the Top 4 battle...

That has aged well.....

Yes and equally world war three could break out.

If we were 5th behind a team who has had and came out the other side of an awful run would you honestly give us a chance of catching them?

In terms of teams putting a run, I am only really be worried about United. For all Ole's faults his happy clappy way of managing could be a strength if they get some confidence and momentum going.

Spurs however don't look capable of stringing two wins together let alone a run, Arsenal are way behind, for perspective both have to be near perfect from now till the end to even make 70 points (Spurs can afford two cock ups while Arsenal can only afford one).

I would say there's more of a chance of us catching Leicester than there is either North London side catching us, significantly more so infact.

Course I would give us a chance we of all teams should no that anything can happen in this league

Our awful run is inconsistency pure and simple and games like today will keep happening. Our chances of finishing in the top four are up in the air and we need someone else that can score desperatly. If the board cannot see that, they are even worse than I thought.

I still think we're best placed.

I'm not going to overreact on defeat any more than I do on wins (i instantly poured cold water on any title talk when we won six in a row).

for those thinking Frank does not want additions

Lampard: “...We can't work any more in training on finishing. We need that killer instinct in front of goal. We need to score more goals if we need to get to where we need to get.”

Frank Lampard: “It doesn't matter until it's done. I'm quite clear about where I know where we need to strengthen. We shall see”

I don't think anyone thinks Lampard doesn't want to sign anyone this month. He has been consistent in his message that we will only sign players if they are the right ones. The question is, who are the right ones this month?

If we sign Dembele, does that mean we say bye bye to Werner? If we sign Zaha, bye bye Sancho? And none of the other names we've been linked with this month have been inspiring either. So unless the board are secretly working on a deal so secret that no one outside fucking knows, then it feels we're just trying to get players that we have been linked with and they don't scream world class/quality.

i dont think it'll be Dembele.  I think Lyon chairman Aulas cant go back on his word now.  2 public statements of he is staying, money doesnt matter.  He'd be lynched now.   The attackers they are linked with is to cover Depay i suspect.

I think a striker and a creative number 10 (just free role in the space between attack and midfield) are more important than left back right now

But who is actually good and we can get this month?

If it was me, with 2 weeks left id say fuck it.   Throw a 20m bid at spurs for Eriksen.  Mourinho is happy to sell to rivals dont forget, and Levy has said he'd sell to a prem rival.

Contact Milan and say can i hve Piatek on a loan until end of season, if he bags 10 goals-15 goals, we'll sign him permanently for 25-30m.   If they fail, you have other irons in the fire waiting

This. We are the model of inconsistency. To actually find ourselves in our position is like drawing an 11 against a 6 is blackjack. At that point you have to double down. However, as we have seen through the years when ever we are in a strong position the club does nothing as our board just think, 'oh, we are in a good position here, lets sit on our hands and hope the dealer busts'.

The more our inconsistency goes on, the more our problems continue, the more it feels like we need to replace the entire team. Feels like we need a GK, CB, LB, MF (probably 2), LW/RW, ST.

my cleanout list is MASSIVE

and will never happen

much easier to list the only ones I WOULD KEEP (AGAIN THIS is ALL FANTASYLAND)

not listing youth loanees and academy

the only ones I would keep ff the current 25 man squad are

CB Tomori

CB Rudiger (he is trying my patience though, lolol)

RB Reece

DH DMF Jorginho

CMF Kovacic

AMF RLC (we are so fucked if he takes 6 or 12 MORE months to get back to true form)

AMF Mount (maybe, maybe not, I would give Villa £25m plus Mount for Grealish atm or Leicester £40m plus Mount for Maddison)

Winger CHO

Winger Pulisic

CF Tammy

the rest are dregs and need to GO, plus we desperately need to cash in on Kante

Could we try make the team work round kante?

                             Kepa

James      rudigur         new           new

                             Kante

            Jogi/rlc              kova/mount

CHO                    tammy                 pulisic

sack Lampard and bring in defensive pragmatic manager like a Conte type, a Simeone type, etc etc

flip to a counter attacking style

like I said, it would be a schizo move

I do not see it happening (nor do I want this, I want him cashed in on this summer)

I fear the worst, Kante will will not be sold, and we just trash the team trying to force him into a role that he is SHIT at, plus he loses truly massive value as he ages more

also, your MF you posted has almost zero creativity
