10 years ago I'd say we need an upgrade but in this era his weaknesses ain't that big a problem if we can grow into the side we hope. I'd say Ederson is a similar level to Kepa but his weaknesses at "actual goalkeeping" is rarely exposed due to how good and complete the side he's playing for is.

One slight problem though - he's letting in shots that he should have saved. Norwich's and Wolves' recent second goals come to mind.

I am overall 90% satisfied with him, I just think he needs some fine tuning from a great goalie coach

Norwich fair enough but Wolves is a bit of a grey area as he did actually save the shot but then it hit Tammy and went in.

I don't think he got a strong enough hands onto that shot. Had he done so, he would have decisively saved. The header was straight at him.

I do grant that, but he has not been a mess overall

the one thing I am not completely happy with is his distribution so far this year

he was brilliant last year

that's where the coaches need to step in

and also work on his arm/hand strength

The bounce did him in I think as he was going low to save it. Ball was hit into the ground and bounced over right in front of him. Had little time to readjust.

I agree that he hasn't be dreadful at all, which is why I hadn't criticised him till now. Just a number of goals in recent weeks could have possibly been prevented.

His arm/hand strength is his biggest issue. He doesn't know how to push a shot away from danger or catch it to reduce pressure. Very annoying really. He should start punching away balls if his fingertips are too soft to push shots a fair distance away

he needs better coaching, he is doing some bad habits
