I also noticed that our line was a bit deeper this time around... And we played so much better with it.

Yeah, I just realised that too. A tweak of philosophy?

Perhaps AVB taking Lipton's advice, playing the old spine and reverting back to Jose tactics :Goober: Naah I think it was an emergency decision, because December is the month where you don't fuck about with wannabe Barca tactics, especially in our position... It will be interesting to see if he keeps it like that against strong oppositions or not throughout the season.

Yep and also Mata played much more central today, so he's definitely changing things that aren't working (Romeu in for Mikel, etc)

That's how a captain leads his team through hell.

Good to see our defensive line deep and JT rested before that, it really payed of today. If that wasn't done we would've lost.

Agree!!! So much more livley and many imporants saves

True, we were without a left winger... tbh we attacked very rarely on the left, mostly through centre or right.. It's a new situation for us, previously we were used to abusing the left side.

Mata was just superb in the hole in the first half. He had so much space and he doesn't need much time to produce quality. It's definitely where he's best.

It was because NU pushed us deeper.

A ploy which actually helped Terry & Luiz defend well. If André noticed that, perhaps he'd use it as a tactic?

Maybe. It depends on a game. It would be useless to keep them deeper when another team is playing deeper.

Agreed. City will be hard without David Luiz & Alex in the dog-house. I fear we'll see Bosingwa return..
