The Mourinho Thread

Maybe it is too late now to sack Mou: we can forget the top 4. Our two main objectives for the season are now the following:

- Avoid relegation

- Avoid humiliation in the CL would we reach next round.

No improvement in the game so far (in practice, we should destroy a team like Stoke, and we lost miserably, we have no attacking power).

I agree there's no hope but I want him gone for other reasons. I'm sick of the BS. The mind games, the immature garbage. The tantrums. I don't find it endearing or interesting. It's extremely childish. I want a manager who can just shut up and manage the team sans drama. Chelsea doesn't just need a new manager, it needs a culture change.

You know shit has hit the fan when the crisis manages to resurrect the great TorontoChelsea! :D How are you, my friend?

I guess the question is: Is it worth paying Jose's salaries for the year (plus the new manager's obviously) in order to get rid of the drama and BS for the season when the new manager, whoever he is, is unlikely to achieve more than Jose?

I think if the board does make the decision, they can go to Jose and say, listen, you're gone at the end of the season regardless, your job is to get us through the season without getting relegated and while integrating some youth players and we want to do it quietly.

Even if that means facing relegation?

I guess I (maybe arrogantly) haven't contemplated that seriously so far. I do believe that we have the individual quality not to actually be drawn into a relegation battle. On any account, I think we can afford till at least February to address that. If by then we are still in bottom 5 then, yes, a decision needs to be taken. But for the time being, I see little that can be gained by sacking Jose before the end of the season.

It is not impossible at all for us to get top 4. As good as Leicester have been, you assume that by the end of the season we should be above them, hopefully. 14 points behind them while 13 behind United. Assume now that City, Arsenal and United are top three. Then you assume our big challengers for the 4th spot will be Spurs, Liverpool and the lesser likes of West Ham, Everton and Southampton. Our next game is Norwich at home which should be a home banker. We then go to Spurs which will be a crucial game. If we can get our act together and beat them, we then have Bournemouth which is surely a home win for us followed by Leicester away and Sunderland and Watford at home. Really, we are good enough to get maximum points there. If not maximum we should be targetting around 13 points at least. We do that then all of a sudden our top 4 chances should look much better. Look at the run Arsenal put together last season and they were doing bad around this stage last season too, albeit not too bad. They ended up finishing 3rd and got top 4 easily.

Hopefully the same with us. Got to keep the faith. We have got too many talented players to think we cannot get a run going :blue scalf:

Problem is with the quality of football we are currently playing, any match we go down 1-0 (which isnt improbable considering our defence) will be almost impossible to overcome.

So, in our current situation we either score first and hope to maintain the lead or we are pretty much certain to drop points.

Top 4 is impossible because you know we are not winning 5 games in a row. We just arent...

What? Tell him he would be sacked at the end of the season and ask him to do these things? It's like you`re telling a man you will fire him next week but you need him to do this and that for you. That simply won't work, every man would probably say "fuck you" and leave the exact time you tell him that

The player I feel sums up our current malaise is Baba. He has to wait ages for his debut mainly because it's pretty apparent that the manager doesn't rate him. He's then given a run when the team's confidence is shot to pieces and it's affecting him badly. He's no Roberto Carlos but he's looking pretty lost out there at the moment and I feel for the kid.

we ain't even winning 2 in a row..so far one game a month!

Can't see us doing it.unless every other team falls apart.Liverpool have quickly pulled things together and I can't see arsenal have a bad run as bad as ours!

May be proved wrong but way we are at the moment...nah

I will be so angry if he is dropped against Norwich. He had a bad game yesterday but like I was saying before he needs a run to prove his worth. He is very talented but keeps being in and out of the team. Norwich is a team we should we beating even in our current predicament so I hope he gets a start because that is a game where I expect us to be on the front foot for majority of the game.

Perfect. Then, he resigns and resolves the main issue which is his huge pay-off.

We all know Brana will be picked and Costa unless he is injured .

Its not negative to say we wont make top 5 its realistic and we arent certain to make top half

You know our situation is doomed when i agree with zolayes

What's the point of sacking him after it's mathematically impossible to quaify for the Champions League? The chances of us finishing in the top 4 are already low at this point but there's still a chance. If the club are really concerned about getting into the competition, then sack him now and hope his replacement can get us into it with 26 games left. Otherwise, back him all the way, even after the failure to qualify for the Champions League.

Because it allows the club to say "Oh look, we gave our manager who won the league last season the maximum amount of time to achieve the minimum objective". (I would also imagine it voids a massive chunk of Mourinho's pay-off)

I think it's more about the club not wanting to scare off the best replacement for Mourinho, not really about the CL. The fact he has lasted this long tells me the club are really trying to change their image about being trigger happy with managers.

Rumours say that he is keen to replace Van Gaal at United. What if he is trying to get himself sacked to make that move?

Yeah, hopefully so he can sell Mata back to us...

...and to relegate them in about 3-4 seasons!

Even so. We are 13 points behind 4th so even if we win 13 or 15 points in the next 5 games (which again wont happen) it isnt difficult for the other contwnders to make 9 or 10 points. Which in the end would still leave us 3 games behind!

So, in resume what I am saying is we definitely are not finishing top 4. People need to accept that and end of story!
