Great pre season for him so far, if he stays fit he'll have a killer season for sure.

not sure if serious or......

there is nothing in our pre-season so far that has been great

I am completely serious and I disagree. While pre season hasn't been great, it hasn't been as bad as some people are making out to be.

Courtois did well, Fabregas and Oscar we'e really moving and passing the ball well (3 assists in 2 games for them combined), Costa was great in both games in all aspects with finishing excluded. Begovic was also alright against PSG.

You do understand that our game against PSG was their 4th game already while ours was only 2nd? If that doesn't tell you anything, then I'm sad to say your knowledge of football is imited to playing FIFA on amateur difficulty.

It was crazy how much negativity there was aimed towards Falcao deal, and after our sleek Colombian runs out on the pitch and makes a few runs, fans are already falling in love with him.

Besides results, our shirt campaign with Adidas has been on of the best ever, and having Montreal as a base is a great decision rather then training on a bunch of different pitches.

Pre season has been rather decent with the big minus being the loss against NYRB while we played really well against PSG for around 60 minutes.

Glass is half full, not half empty.

I agree Barbara I think Cescy would make us a very good captain. It's not like he hasn't got the qualifications and the respect from all the club and as a plus north Londoners hate him.

What depresses me is how he has Bane so prominent in our future. I absolutely love the guy but as a RB we need to upgrade.

He also kinda places Mikel above Cescy too and thats just plane crazy. How can we have a captain or vice captain on the bench or even better playing for another club? pray_zps4rfjxpiq.gif

great interview by him. It never ceases to amaze me how smart he is. He'd make a great manager because he certainly has the brains for it.

Love him more and more and I don't expect (or want) him to say anything bad about Arsenal. He's spent most of his academy and early senior years there. A lot of what he is today he owes to Arsenal and so we in an extent. It's great he's now with us but Arsenal have been an integral part of him becoming who he is and for that I'm thankful. They can continue to produce some players we'll have in their best years for all I care :P

He needs to aim for more pass accuracy as I feel he gives away easy passes. I want him to be more influential in the games and dictate the tempo and midfield. Playing a bit too much like a 'star' atm and needs to get stuck in like he did in his Arsenal days..

I want to see more this season..

His set piece delivery seemed to be even better than last season's. I'm positive if he stays healthy he'll break the assists record this season and add some more.

His delivery was very good at the start of the 14/15. I'd say the entire first half of the season. But it dropped off after and even the likes of Oscar and Willian, with their poor delivery, started to take more and more corners and indirect FKs.

Set-pieces would be close to clear-cut chances with a real specialist here.

I don't know why Oscar, Willian and even Schurrle took corners last season with him on the pitch. He's light years ahead of any of them delivering any sort of set piece. We can't waste it again this season. He impressed me with the FK deliver yesterday. Was sharp

Oscar is the best FK taker on the team (direct)

Edit: Nvm, just saw the indirect bit

We still have to talk about Cesc ...

He's so shit in big games, it's beyond me. Yeah, yeah scapegoat Ramires but this guy is literally invisible, his passing is bad, he can't keep up with tempo, can't help with pressing, he does nothing. Feel like we're playing with 10. Every big game is the same, he has to be benched, simple as that. I'm very much looking forward to see Oscar in the middle (!).

He has a very hard time performing when the tempo is high. He continued to struggle when the tempo dropped, but at least he produced a couple of good plays. Mou might have to consider benching him in certain games. Doubt he'll do it though.

Not quite. It is not like he is completely useless. Yeah his setpieces were shite and his passing inaccurate but he created one moment of magic we should have scored from. His is like pirlo. invisible the whole match but picks his moments to set up scoring chances. But in a big match we also have to utilize him like pirlo which means we have to play 2 mids with who mask his defensive incompetence. Either that or leave him out completely in big games. Anyway we need a better midfielder.

That is one of the reason Barca sold him, he is just not good enough in big games and often being outplayed. His energy and pace meant he always need time to pick out a pass and in big games you don't get that.

Damn, another poor performance in a big game. And this time we didn't park the bus

It's just a friendly, but worrying signs till he steps up in a big game.
