Well, i've been on Playstation since 1997 and i will stop on the Playstation too whatever number that will be. PS3 on release was around £500 (I didn't spent that much though). The PS4 on release is looking to be around £350. THAT'S INSANE. If i can get some birthday money, xmas money and trade in my PS3 along with games, accessories etc, this PS4 will be an easy thing to get.

I got my first PS3, the 60 GB big one with a bundle probably around the £380 mark. The newer one i got for £120 as i traded in my 60 GB PS3 which had the YLOD. I got it repaired but knew by past experience that it woulda came back after about a week so really screwed GAME over there but the slimline PS3 at that time was about £250 so i would be mad not to get the PS4.

Also the PS4 has a built in capture card i hear for recording so i can't wait. I will get this undoubtedly.

I could have posted the same thing word for word.

Only thing is i will target PS4 in spring time, wait to see if there are any glitches with the first batch that go on sale.

I waited around one year to buy the PS2 and the PS3 (bought it on Feb/2008) and I didnt regret doing so at all. You still enjoy the late tripleA games that usually comes to the current gen and already have a decent variety of next-gen games to choose from.

I will definitely do the same with the PS4. I am thinking of buying it with a supposed Uncharted IV bundle in late 2014 (when I am predicting it will launch) to get the most out of it. Dont think I will regret it...

I do love their launching lineup and it does offer a good cost benefit, so I wouldnt blame anyone who decides to buy it at day one!

PS2 to PS3 was a big jump. From SD games to HD, not sure how big of a jump it'll be from PS3 to PS4. I am interested but I won't be getting one on launch. Probably will wait a few months and see if it really is worth jumping from PS3 to PS4.

So with the announcement of Xbox One, it seems we will have a continuation of the console war going on between Sony and Microsot.

Both are to be released in 2013, Microsoft has shown what Xbox One will look like while Sony hasn't.

So, which one are you planning to get???

Specs:

I have the Xbox 360 at the moment, but I have always been a Playstation boy since the days of PS1 & 2. Not sure why i chose Xbox instead of PS3, you have to pay to play online which i think is ridiculous.

I might get the PS4 this time round and sell my X360.

Your thoughts??

Please clarify for me... PS4 doesn't take wifi?

So the publishers will decide how much each game costs to carry your PS3 games to PS4? Smart move from Sony so they don't get the backlash from consumers who have already accepted ps4 isn't backwards compatible.

Does anyone know if the saved progress comes along with it?

I've read that trophies and saved games could transfer if the publisher creates a platform for that.

Xbox One for me. Got a PS3 on release and the got a free Xbox 360 when I got a phone from Carphone warehouse. My PS3 ended up collecting dust so I sold it to my mate and continued with my X360. I had originally planned to switch to PS4 when microsoft were being pretty anal about restrictions on lending but decided to go just stick with Xbox once they changed their minds after fan backlash.

Plus Xbox One has this baby as an exclusive

Which is something pretty easy to do from what I have heard. It already happens with Vita and PS3, so I wouldnt be too worried...

EA and Ubisoft already said that games like Madden, FIFA, AC4 and Watch Dogs will have your progress carried over. The only major franchise that hasnt said a thing about it is COD, so expect some bad news maybe!
