I don't agree. Very good interview, you often hear about how Torres isn't the typical footballer. He comes across as articulate, considerate and honest, generally a good guy, it's no wonder do many want him to succeed.

being in a individual sport myself, such as swimming, you always hear people who individually critique you or praise you, no matter what you do; and the best part is, i can see the real person inside nando and that is what strikes me so much and why i can relate to him...

what people dont understand is these athletes are real people, they have to go home to their families, they have their own problems and issues off the pitch (or the pool in my case ha) and to be honest, its the writers and the people who never were "athletes" who do not understand...

watching him score is different than anybody, when he celebrates you can just read his expressions of him saying "finally!" and there is just so much emotion poured into it than just a "fuck yeah im the best"... and i appreciate that...

he is a REAL guy, with a family and problems... shoot he even married his high school sweetheart hahaha

I can't believe some of you people are getting mad because he's getting abused, well if you want to call it abuse anyway...

If it getting on Torres's back i would rather have it. Instead of us having high expectations of him, like we have always done after one good game he has had, like Stoke away last season. It usually back fires on us, yes, yes now we have a new team with creativity at least. But still, Torres doesn't seem the most confident of strikers, it's best that he hasn't got too much pressure on him and let him do his thing. I would much rather us be 'well he still has to prove himself and this doesn't mean anything yet' rather than 'OMG EL NINO IS BACK, WERE GONNA WIN THE LEAGUE'... okay slight exaggeration there I'll admit, but you know what I'm getting at.

Drogbas real faith was with Cote D'Ivoire and Marseille -but he genuinely loved us -it was apparent before and after the final whistle.

Torres true faith obviously lies with his family, and yes Spanish things, but all the signs are there that he genuinely is grateful for the faith we've kept in him.
