Lampard played smart, his delivery was poor, but he had the right things in his mind. I liked that he played directly upfield when having drawn opposition on them... it was clearly AVB's instruction to provoke the opposition and then play a direct ball up front once they have more room (like he said in his interview about playing against ultra-low block, which Stoke were). In last season we would have passed it back and played ourselves into stale position until the only option was to hoof one long. Unfortunately we didn't do that enough and Lamps seemed the be the only one who at least tried (in 1st half).

His first half at Rangers was also very good so i reckon he genuinely is feeling more like his old self again. Really hope he doesn't get injured again.

Doesn't seem to be worse for wear after his Spanish adventure although Stoke were very physical with him. Credit to him he battled the entire match. Looked a little WWE at times.

We now know he can do it on a cold, wet night away in Stoke.

haha :)

After today's performance he looked like he was back to his best, hopefully now the goals start coming.

Aguero's scored more goals in 20minutes than Torres has in 20games

Stats like that are pointless, IE Ivanovic scored more goals in half a hour (against Spartak) than Rooney did in 8 months or Ivanovic scored more goals in his first hour against Liverpool than Gerrard ever has against Chelsea.

Haha relax, relax, just a bit of fun stating it. I know in context it's a different story :P
