LA Galaxy sign Cristian Pavon on loan with option to buy from Argentine club Boca Juniors

https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2019/08/08/la-galaxy-sign-cristian-pavon-loan-argentine-club-boca-juniors

The LA Galaxy made a blockbuster move on Deadline Day, acquiring Boca Juniors winger Cristian Pavon on loan through the remainder of the 2019 season. The move was announced Thursday morning.

The Athletic has reported that it’s a free loan, allowing the 23-year-old’s salary to be bought down with Targeted Allocation Money. LA would have the option to buy or loan Pavon for the 2020 season, when multiple Designated Player spots could open as contract situations loom for Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Romain Alessandrini.

Pavon has made 11 appearances for Argentina’s national team, most prominently at the 2018 World Cup in Russia. He did not appear in the 2019 Copa America, though he has featured at the 2016 Olympics, 2015 U-20 World Cup and 2013 U-17 World Cup.

I see similar stories all over the net. Pavon is better than many starting wingers in the EPL.. He is streets ahead of Andreas Pereira at Manure, for instance.

Official: Steven Nzonzi joins Galatasaray On Loan With Perm Buy Option Next Year

https://romapress.net/2019/08/16/official-steven-nzonzi-joins-galatasaray/

Steven Nzonzi has officially left Roma to join Turkish side Galatasaray. The Giallorossi announced the departure of the Frenchman today after just one year since arriving at the club for €26 million plus bonuses. Here is the full announcement from Roma:

AS Roma can confirm that an agreement has been reached with Turkish club Galatasaray for the temporary transfer of midfielder Steven Nzonzi. Nzonzi will join the Turkish club on an initial season-long loan deal, which runs until 30 June 2020. As part of the agreement, Galatasaray have the option to make the transfer permanent – prior to the expiration of the loan – for a fixed fee of €16 million. The club also have the option to extend the loan for a further 12 months – until 30 June 2021 – for a loan fee of €500,000. If that option is activated, the club can also make the transfer permanent, prior to the conclusion of the deal, for a fee of €13 million.

Nzonzi, 30, joined the Giallorossi in the summer of 2018, shortly after playing a part in France’s World Cup-winning squad. During the 2018-19 season he made 39 appearances for the Giallorossi, scoring one goal. The club would like to wish Steven the best of luck for the future.

Always thought he was overrated even at his best for Liverpool, but even I'm surprised at how he totally failed at Barca. Still think if he's deployed as a #10 in a 4-2-3-1 he'd be great again. Runners with pace either side and a striker in front of him to play off.
