Gary Cahill - Not only do we lack depth at centre half at the moment, but if JT gets a big ban in the new year, we need a replacement for him. Somebody who is used to leading and marshalling a defence. I don't know what his wage demands are and I would like to hope we stick to our guns and don't pay him over the top. However a good, solid homegrown centre half for £7m is very good business IMO.

Gonzalo Higuain - If we had a central striker who could score this season we would be right up with City and United. Our midfield finally has legs, Mata provides the creativity and Ramires and Sturridge give us serious pace when attacking. All we need is someone to guarantee the team 20 goals a season (I think Sturridge could, but shouldn't have this burden), Higuain would provide this and if media reports are true that he could be available for £24m he is a must for that price!

Milos Krasic - No doubt a talented winger and a different option that the team currently lacks (an out and out wide player). I worry about spending big money on him and he fails to settle (i.e. Zhirkov), but I would be delighted to sign him on loan for the season in exchange for Juventus maybe taking Alex on loan. That way we can see how he performs and if he does well then hopefully a fee can be pre-agreed and we can buy him for a good price in the summer all things equal.

Cahill - £7m

Krasic - £15m

Neymar - £25m - (wishful thinking)

any name of a playmaker, I don't care who he is... just a playmaker, providing he isn't worth more than £30m tops!

+ a one way ticket to Stockholm so I can spend quality time with Linda!

A winger is more important, then we don't need to sign a midfielder as Mata can revert to a central position, restoring balance to the team. I would not be surprised if we signed Cahill and Krasic only, because I honestly think that is all we need.

Jokes on you

Cavani - 25m + Kalou

You need a straight jacket if you think Napoli are a selling club, never mind a club that would release Cavani for such a small fee. I won't even comment on your addition of Kalou to that deal. You do realise Chelsea target Vargas recently snubbed us in favor of Napoli.

How do you know our interest was legitimate in Vargas?

The media proclaims there is chelsea interest with almost every player.

I really, really would like Dzagoev. Not the biggest or most fashionable name you'll hear get mentioned, but exactly the kind of player we need. A Chelsea fan too.

The man who said Frank Lampard was his idol... count me in on that

We could use a portion of that money to give Malouda a big fat pay cheque and tell him to fuck off

What has Malouda done wrong, sure he hasn't been great, but no worse than most of Drogba's recent performances or even Cole who seems to go completely unnoticed as one of our worst players recently.

fair play to you mate. I really did not think that comment through. Malouda was one of our best players against Fulham. Like you said, Cole and Drogba have been poor yet its Anelka/Kalou/Malouda who get it in. Malouda has been the best of those 3 this year.

I think they've just become the go to guys for criticism, they have to play like Messi every game to keep the haters off their backs. Now I know Malouda has been bad and he does deserve criticism, but he doesn't deserve the level of criticism he gets.
