Samuel Eto'o to Everton all but confirmed according to BBC.

Imagine Lukaku going to the Everton dressing room and finding Eto'o there. Another "woah, what's happening here" moment? :whistling:

Think he'll ask for a loan away from Everton? Now THAT would be funny!

Mourinho complimented Lukaku in his PC yesterday. Jamie Redknapp speaking on Soccer AM said a similar thing and spoke on how ambitious he is to leave his boyhood club to play for a team where he will be no. 1 striker. He could have easily chosen to get a new contract on big wages and be happy to stay on the bench but he puts his football first. How people accuse him of being a coward is beyond me. As Redknapp was saying we bought Costa for £32m and although he looks like a retiring 40 year old, he is only 25 and he is never going to lose his place as he is a long term investment. The natural choice for Lukaku at his age and with his potential is to play. That is what he is going to get. Why people feel he should be obliged to stay and play second fiddle is mind boggling. The fact is he never was realistically going to ever be no.1 forward with Costa here and imo the logical decision for him was to move.

I don't want to go over all this again about why he left last season. It was WC year. He had not started our first 4 games while Eto'o was not even part of Chelsea then so when Eto'o joined of course he panicked. He said himself that he had a bit of a shock with all the strikers he had to compete against. In hindsight he most deifnitely would have earned more starts here if he stayed but he left and with it being a vital year for international purposes etc I can understand why he made the choice to leave. I will never change my opinion on that.

Everything I don't like about his game was on display yesterday. Bad touches, weak holdup play, bad/average movement etc. I can't believe the club got 28m.

Eto'o looked so much better it was unreal let alone Costa!

He was rubbish yesterday. Like I said, he thinks he's the big man, but whenever that big occasion comes he seems to go into hiding.

Costa showed him yesterday what a true complete striker looks like.

The more that happens, the more it highlights the point Steve Clarke made last week - Lukaku needs space to be at his best.

I just hope the media and pundits shut up about Chelsea being mad to let Lukaku leave. Although I bet when he scores again it will start up again.

They would probably do so but less than before as long as Costa, possibly Remy and even Drogba fire in the goals on a regular basis.
