Oriol Romeu

Romelu's portion of the presser seemed a little more light hearted compared to Oriol's. Speaking English and that laugh of his were great for Romelu. Felt like they were grilling Oriol "what about Barca, what about Cesc, what about your buyback, what about Barca".

Liked how both players faces lit up when their compatriots were mentioned - Hazard and Mata.

Lukaku needs to 'do a Torres' and start texting Hazard..

Don't worry, as soon as Wenger rules himself out a Hazard-bargin, we'll move in.

Mata x2.

He looks really gay in that picture, hope to see him play soon tho, still never seen him play. Fulham CC must be his bow.

AVB on Romeu..

"Oriol Romeu had an amazing game", Villas-Boas added, turning his attention to one young full debutant.

'His ability to receive the ball is something out of this world, its extraordinary his comfort with the ball, receiving it straight from the goalkeeper under pressure. You saw that led eventually to a ball loss but that is the risk you take when you build from the back.

'It shows that the school where he is from is fantastic and shows that he can play in the Premier League."

A star is born.

Romeu was instrumental in keeping the clean sheet after playing 120 minutes and being down to 10 men for almost 75 minutes. He is over enthusiastic in his pressing and got rounded off one time too many by a simple side step and almost gave a goal away with a careless backpass but to his credit he ran back and won the ball back himself.

Keeping in mind the 3 year age difference with Sergio, he is nowhere near the quality of Sergio 3 years back. But there is huge potential which is quite easily evident and he knows how to stay on his feet unlike Mr. Busquets something highly appreciated in the Premier League.

Brilliant performance, first time i've seen him and very impressed. So cool on the ball, strong in the tackle too and even when he gave that bad pass away he quickly won it back. What a future he has.

Haven't seen the game, but waiting for the 'vs Fulham' video, showing all his passes, the completed and the uncompleted, with the odd walking and running and etc. with the odd one camera angel where he looks over his shoulder, or picking his noise - all set to a dodgy pop song that has been remixed to become a trance theme.

Not as impressed as AVB but he surely resembles Mikel in his ability to keep the ball under pressure.

Yeah.. I feel there's an attacking instinct that he posses above Mikel though, perhaps AVB will exploit it. Will be an interesting battle between Mikel & Romeu now.
