No way for me

Chilwell is the one who needs to go

these are the LBs valued more than CuCu

Gvardiol and Calafiori (who take either in a flash) are still in my mind CBs first but are not available

the only one on this list I would go for (many are not available) would be Rayan Aït-Nouri IF Maresca is convinced he can play the inverted role

after these

the ones I rate to buy perhaps would be

Jorrel Hato
Miguel Gutiérrez
Milos Kerkez

then

Quilindschy Hartman (IF he recovers 100 per cent from his knee injury)
Patrick Dorgu
Antonee Robinson (age is an issue, he turns 28 in August)
Jayden Oosterwolde  (IF he recovers 100 per cent from his knee injury)

Nuno Mendes I like a lot. Kerkez is super good, both defensively and in offense. Fonzie and Theo definetly not as heroic in defending as Cucu.

who?

none of the big names are available and/or will come here (or, in Grimaldo's case, are too old)

Josko Gvardiol
Theo Hernández   (turns 28yo in 10 months)
Nuno Mendes
Alphonso Davies (will only go to Real IF he leaves Bayern)
Federico Dimarco
Riccardo Calafiori
Alejandro Grimaldo   (turns 30 in 9 months)
Destiny Udogie (if you include him as elite level)

Yeah that is the problem. Maybe Miguel Gutierrez but I am not a scout.... None of us are.

Even Cucurella?

He is top player full 2024.

Hard disagree. But he is a fine backup and has been doing fairly well most of this season, after a rough start.

Either way clearly Chilwell is not a player Maresca fancies and he is injured all the time. So I dream of them adding a new LB to the team.

But then, it is much the same case on RB with Reece James sadly being injured all the time.

my top 4 targets (realistic ones who are remotely available)

no real order

So full decembar without Fofana. We need someone to step up now. Schedule is good but in January we should do something.

has to be Tosin

I will loose my mind if Maresca trots out Disasi or Badi

tbh, I would rather play Veiga as a CB than thsoe two clowns

insane that we have dropped £1.3 billion and are so shit/lack depth at CB and GKer

Tosin needs to be the CB replacement - not Disasi or Badi for the league games

Well considering Badiashile played 90 mins last week against Leicester and was first sub today I think decision is already made.

Tbf, that happened after Chelsea was in the lead and needed to hold on to it at 2-0.

It's possible that Tosin can also start games if Maresca wants two ball playing CBs., especially against teams that sit back.

Benoit has been more in form than Tosin in the last three times he has started.

Badi has quietly been building some form imo. Is he great, no, but in the past few games he has played he has done the basics and been solid. Of the three - Disaster, Badi and Tosin - I would most likely also choose Badi currently, although I wouldn't go mad if Tosin starts. So long as it isn't Disaster I am good.

As for how this plays out, if it is Badi he needs to play well and take his chance. If he drops the ball, then that should really be the end of him and Disaster here.

Great win. Can’t remember the last time we controlled the game that well against a CL opponent. We need to go all out against Soton and continue the winning run as long as possible. Maresca comments remind me of Mourinho’s little horse in 2014.

Liverpool are running away with it, but it is unlikely we manage to push for the league. Top 4 would be solid. I really enjoy watching Pep struggle. Hope it isn’t a blip and he goes mad and straight down as did Mou 6-7 years ago.
