You have fine points there, but again read my post. That was w/ Bunker Bob as our gaffer. Different story now w/ Klinsmann. When was the last time England beat Italy in Italy? Has England even played Mexico in Mexico? I highly doubt it. 3 Lions always play in Wembley. Come out & play sometime to see what its like to play in a hostile environment that is not your own. BTW, we need to stop this discussion here. We are making this thread decent w/ our discussion ;) we need to throw some dirt at spudz xD

Haha, you other teams have to come to the home of football, its where the games was made. I haven't watched USA under Klinsmann but results are looking good. Yeah I agree about making this a decent thread, but the spurs are doing enough to ruin themselves. Just heard AVB's record is now 3wins in 15 BPL games. I thought we messed him up, but starting to think otherwise.

AVB should just be a scout!

Some people are just bad at coaching, while have an eye for talent.

I mention how Avram Grant, a men Mourinho did not want as Technical Director actually had a great eye to spot talent.

AVB fall under this category at the moment.

Who knows he might be the best in a decade, but for now, he is just another Avram.

Everyone had such high hopes for him last year, we paid £13mil to get him. If we had added that to our valuation of Hulk we could of got him.

I did too, but the results don't lie. Look @ RDM's results & compare them w/ AVB's. We became European Champions under RDM. We were pushovers under AVB

He is kinda like rain man with his tactics, but has no ability to manage players and seemed like he was drowning whenever we went behind, no plan B.

I've never really shared the hatred for spuds that most Chels do but my goodness their fans could moan for Britain. They just never stop even when harry had them in 3rd half of them were saying "he's taken us as far as he can" and now after 2 games they've all written avb off and want him back.

http://www.thenation...o-transfer-bid?

Tottenham Hotspur's failure to sign Joao Moutinho on transfer deadline day was caused by a dispute over their principal transfer target's financial terms compounded by Porto's decision to increase their asking price a mere hour before Friday's window closed.

Could not have happened to a nicer guy. Fuck you, Daniel Levy.

He did the same thing himself with Lloris' transfer by telling Lyon in the last minute that they're not willing to pay the agreed price but instead a few million less. At least Levy has now found his match in transfer negotiations with Pinto da Costa.

Tbf, AVB 'knows' what he wants to do, he just can't implement it..

Forever a scout it seems.

I think he is one of the best scouts I seen.

A lot of people say how SAF, Wenger and Mourinho pick good talent....but I am more impress by this guy then anyone else.

He should just stick to that, and let the coaching done to better managers like the one mention already.

I think with AVB is he isn't prepared to ditch his philosophy even in the short term. Look at Robbie, he likes attacking football but last season made use of his resources properly and came out with an FA Cup and Champions League.

Andre must be looking at the players we have signed this summer and be royally kicking himself.

All about being adaptable and versatile and AVB doesn't have those qualities as a manager after what happened here. Kinda makes you wonder what he learned from Sir Bobby Robson and Mourinho to be making so many mistakes like that.

:D

Hardly, we still don't have a quick enough defence for his high line. We'd still lose games 4-3 all the time.

He implemented it just fine at Porto.

Perhaps England isn't right for him. He would do well to go back to the continent where his style of football would be more accepted by the players as opposed to England.

Did he though?, how remarkable & groundbreaking his work at Porto was is debatable.

It's not just his style of play.. his man-management skills, and the way he treats players are all factors. AVB also tries to be a 'Mourinho' to the press, he lacks the charisma to pull it off.
