Superblue_1986 5,373
I wouldn't be keen on Gundogan purely based on him being 32 shortly after the season starts and City will probably want a handsome sum to sell to us. The experience in our midfield is already there with Kante and Jorgi.

It’s Azpi who I’m not sure why they want. As we saw in the final the other day against Liverpool, Alonso is still very capable of being a dangerous attacking threat which you know Barca loves. Azpi is washed up on both ends of the pitch. Barca would be doing us a tremendous favor by taking all 3 of Azpi, Alonso, and AC. We will be considerably stronger next season with new players replacing them.

People have forgotten we signed Lukaku and Saul last summer.

But if we can sign some of these players we’re linked with they’re all huge upgrades. Borna Sosa replacing Alonso would be a colossal upgrade at a relatively inexpensive price. And he’s right there on Chilwell’s level in my opinion so that would be great competition at LWB.

Hermione 315
Yeah lets get Gundogan and partly fund City for getting the exciting up and coming De Jong.

Honestly not that impressed with De Jong. He hasn’t exactly set the world alight at Barca. He’s a good player but not a great one yet. United fans are creaming themselves as though he’s going to be their midfield savior. I’m not saying this just because I’m a Chelsea fan, but for me Connor Gallagher looks more impressive when watching their YouTube highlights than De Jong does.

Vesper 23,968
Mbappe wants around 2 MILLION EUROS PW in salary plus a massive signing bonus (perhaps 50 to 100m euros) plus bonuses he is on fucking crack 600m or so euros over 5 years

May as well stay.

Signed up long term, he's probably the most valuable player in world football right now and will be the most marketable beyond Ronaldo and Messi, especially for Real Madrid. I know we've been stung this summer losing players at the end of their contracts but I believe this will become a far more regular thing moving forward. There are a huge amount of big names likely to move clubs this summer on free transfers. Players will be prepared to see out contracts and pocket signing on fees that clubs will be prepared to hand out due to no transfer fee being required. We need to position ourselves moving forward to (1) protect our most valuable players (in our case currently it'll be the younger crop of players like Mount, James, Havertz, etc) and (2) put ourselves in the market to benefit from this ourselves with future incomings. Imagine the SCENES at Real Madrid if Mbappe stays at PSG, Tchouameni signs for an EPL club we do the biz with Rice Real already lost Håland to Citeh Salah is 30 years old now, so zero long term there zero chance Kane or Lewa sign only to sit on the bench behind Benz for likely 2 plus years roflmaoooooooooo the big two I would be afraid they do if all that happens is Jude Bellingham and FOR SURE Reece and move for one of these 2 CB's Matthijs de Ligt Milan Skriniar plus likely make a play to bring back Theo maybe Osimhen next summer (2023)
