Come now mate, the games are coming thick and fast, the dude been here for 3weeks or so, new team and league etc, surely we are not pissing all over him already.

It isn’t lack of movement. It isn’t that we are static. Our decision making in the final third is simply championship level atm.

People said we shouldn't judge Lampard after 18 months at the club but the same people now want to judge Tuchel after only 1 month into the job. 🤣

Southampton have been wide open and totally unable to defend for ages. And yet we can’t exploit that at all because none of our midfielders can play creative, piercing passes. Not Kante, not Mount, not Kova.

We’re playing right into their hands.

You can only play a pass if the forwards are making intelligent runs.

Ours are not.

It's simple. We could have Messi and Ronaldo up front and nothing would change.

We allow their defenders time to get settled and make a challenge.

Lack of movement == static? 🤔

I’d replace Mount with Ziyech at the half. Kante has been winning the ball back like a machine and Kova at least keeps things ticking over. Mason has offered nothing at all here yet.

Kante is showing why he is by far the highest earner at 300k a week. Broke them up so many times, but the final third -abysmally slow on what the aim of the game is. Stick it in the fucking onion bag !

That Liverpool bastard gets one chance and has animal cunning to put it away

Because we give their defenders time to get comfortable.

Tammy basically falls over his own legs - what threat is that

I sometimes feel the word 'better' isn't enough to transmit the whole story. I often prefer to talk about player A being more 'talented' than player B, or about player A being more 'effective' than player B. Talent speaks of a player's technical quality, of what he can do. Effectiveness speaks about what he actually does. If we could get an honest public comment from TT I wonder if he would say that he agrees Hakim is more talented but that he believes Mason will be more effective overall. I'm not saying that is my opinion but there is a reason why TT is preferring Mason and I wonder if that might be it.

The reason is form, and that is the only of reason why Mount starts. If you believe that Mount is better than an in-form Ziyech then you're deluded. Ziyech is by far our best attacker/midfielder, the things he has done with Ajax in the CL is something that none of these players have achieved. Ziyech in good form is basically world class, while Mount is good. The difference in both of their ceilings is astronomical

Kante is awful

He should have been sold before the start of last season. Not because he's bad but because we've seen over and over again that our squad doesn't support a really effective set up with him in the side, and because summer 2019 was the time to maximise his market value.

Looks like they are playing a much deeper line today because of all those defeats. But yeah, this defense wont be unlocked by the midfield we have right now. Need a few changes. Lets see if Tuchel is the anti-Lampard and doesn't wait till the 65th minute for changes

Uh?

Azpi offers fuck all. Remove him. Or take Reece off and bring on CHO

Tammy needs to go- I have seen drunk people with better ball control

Zouma's positioning was absolutely shocking for their goal. As I have said elsewhere, AC is really the only one that can play the CCB role when Silva is out as Zouma and Rudi get caught he poor positions and do not read the game well enough.

As for the second half, we are going to need to get Ziyech and CHO on as we are far too static at the moment as Kova, Mount and Werner are the only ones moving off the ball properly.

But what is our midfield doing before that? Kante is not attacking their midfielder

Another game where we dominate possession but still lacking ideas in final third. For first time in Tuchel era, we are a goal down. No need for three CB. Take one of them off, go to a back four and bring Ziyech on please.

Sell him and keep Jorginho instead?
