I'm not crying

What does he do? attacking wise he offers next to nothing, defensively he's lazy, hardly ever tracks his man, rarely wins back the ball... when he does it takes him 30 seconds to actually release the

I'm not a fan of Mikel...but letting go of him just makes our squad weaker

While I agree in terms of numbers replacing a player like mikel - who hardly ever plays anyway - isn't very difficult.

the last match was an indicator of why he is still useful to the squad. would u want RLC/chalobah coming on in the 80th minute with a man down and a goal lead to protect or would u want mikel?

i have no doubt who i would want to see.

you are comparing a 28-year-old bench warmer to youngsters without any experience. Obviously I am not saying sell Mikel and use one of those kids instead.

Zouma would have done the same prob better as he tackles better. So, once we get one or two defenders Mikel will get even less playing time (he does not play much under Jose). Aside from that, a number of cheap DMs out there could provide the same cover - some with a bit more intensity and technique.

Once again, our opponents have better players (than Mikel) sitting on their bench IMO.

Is it time to convert Mikel into a CB ? .. Im not sure if I'm joking or serious :halo:

that's just like picking Susan Boyle over Katy Perry a very bad idea to put Mikel in centre back ???

no , he is our paulo ferreira

the reason I think Mikel always wants to stay at chelsea because hes on good money and he wouldn't get that money else where

fair enough that zouma could do the same job but currently we have 6 defenders and zouma is probably our best CB. he should anyways be on pitch.

if you are saying that we should sell mikel and buy someone like moutinho/carvalho. i am on board. but nothing tells me we want to do that.

yes, they do.players but mikel is "useful" to this present squad. i cant say that for the likes of fernando/flamini/arteta who are the other bench player.

Mikel needs to play. We need more defensive solidarity at the minute. Him playing would take an unreal amount of pressure off of Matic, whose own form is suffering because of how badly Fabregas is performing.

If any of you are bored and want to read how 1) I've developed this point in the following article, and 2) my writing quality has declined as much as Fabregas' performances have in the last few months, check this out:
