I can't actually believe how well coached we are. Puts it in further perspective when you see the garbage United and Arsenal are spewing. I love the fact Frank isn't so stubborn to try and do it

Very confused, can only assume the ones being somewhat negative did not watch the game? Aside from Dave and Zouma, I thought we played really well against the European Champions. I was shocked at time

Our pressing game was superb, and made all the difference today! 4-3-3 with Mount and Havertz to harass opponents and Kante to sweep up behind...that's the way to go. And we have two bombing

He is still a good manager theres i no doubt about that. JM too won the lot with Inter, did that make him a broken manager?

Serie A was respectful league back then; FFP and rise of Qatari and UAE clubs destroyed the league. The thing is most Serie A owners were not in the business of making money out of their club, it was a hobby to them not a serious business. Regulations and unable to compete financially left the league in shambles.

Ibramovic carried his ass, once he was sold, Allegri was exposed and fired soon after. Seems like at 39 years old Ibra might carry another Milan manager to a title. Serie A is a broke league, do you even realize the quality of their squads. Inter have built a side on top of players that can’t compete at higher level of leagues.

Just ibrahimovic is not enough to win you a title. milans title win under allegri was against superior sides and with a very average and washed out squad. allegri got the best out of them and that is his forte. building a dynasty is not.

The only superior side you could argue was Inter, and Rafa Benetiz was so poor even an incredible second half season by Leonardo couldn’t help them overcome the odds.

The best work any manager has done in Serie A over the past ten years is Conte and Sarri, and we hired both of them and fired both of them.

I am done talking about Allgeri;  because none of you could argue why he is a good fit, and it all come down to this nonsense He Is a WiNnEr.

Of course we will make top 4, I am willing to bet money.

For crying out loud second place is only 3 points ahead of us, 3 points!

You DO know United have 2 games in hand right? Win those, 2nd place is United's and they'll be 9 points ahead. Everton has a game in hand. City has games in hand. Many teams below us are 1 point behind us and have a game in hand.

Look at the bigger picture. Getting top 4 is a mountain to climb now. Especially with how we play.

Despite being one of the most successful managers in Italy, Allegri’s Juventus were hardly the envy of other teams for their style of play because they were too pragmatic and hardly exciting.

Despite having the likes of Paulo Dybala and Ronaldo, Allegri still setup his team just to get results and he didn’t care about the style of play.

His teams also seem to rely on superstars like Dybala, Ronaldo and Gonzalo Higuain, it would be hard for him to get the funds to sign players of that calibre.

Allegri also hardly promoted youth players, which would go against the culture of the club somewhat.

We are 6th on 26 points after spending 200m on top quality players. 7 wins 5 draws 4 losses. Looks ok until you realise Villa and United have played less games than us and are above us. Tottenham, Man City and Southampton have played less games than us and will likely leapfrog us by the time they catch up.

This is the tipping point of the season, for me he has to go and soon if we want to get any chance of making top 4 yet alone pushing for an improvement on last seasons position.

If it were any other manager and it would not be acceptable to be outside top 4 with these group of players and to also be sitting wondering how are we going to score goals or create chances.

8th (very likely) when you even out the games in hand of Shitty (2 games, they would be above us now if they had played tonight) and Spuds (1 v Fulham)

could be 9th, but I doubt SOTON beat Liverpool

Not sure if he had much of a say in transfers at Juventus - or even Milan. He was given what he was given and managed to make it work, especially after we saw with Sarri and now Pirlo. You only have to look at our current manager, who spent over 100 million on attacking players (players of his choosing) but has no clue on how to get the best out of them.

Can't remember names but again, not sure if Juventus have the best youth squad out there.

I assume whoever gets hired next would be asked to utilize the youth players.

The English journalists probably wouldn't dare to write anything against Lampard but I would really, REALLY like to know whether the players still believe in whatever Lampard is trying to do. Because what we're seeing now is just not good enough and Lampard's style of play is becoming really predictable and dull. Is this Sam Allardyce-esque football what he told to Werner, Havertz, Ziyech etc when he convinced them to join us? We spent over 100 million on those 3 and Lampard doesn't seem to have a clue on how to get the best out of them, especially the German lads. We used to see stories from the media about the players being unhappy with the manager about this and that during a bad run but is there really nothing right now? Even if this group of players don't have big egos, I don't believe for one second they would just be passive, be yes men and not at least question whatever the hell Lampard is doing right now. If this is really a 3-year plan to get us back to challenging for the league title and the Champions League, then it feels like we're far behind schedule.

Maybe some players actually take credit for their bad performances. I mean, it is not like Lampard says to them "hey, just put 30 crosses per game and when you don't cross, just do sideway passes until you can cross it again without any variation of the cross".

We have been through these periods many times. It is not the only time we lack creativity. Sarri Ball was boring as hell, Conte had his moments but second season was horrible and in Mou's second season, first half was very good but then we collapsed and Hazard alone won us the title in the end. But I remember those horrible Mou performances during second part of the season. Is it always the coachs fault?
Mou definitely was fault in the third season when he did not see the obvious that Ivanovic was finished as a player at a top club. Conte came and benched him for good. Mou deserved the sack because he had his favourites, but I think Chelsea still should have done better because back then we had a much better midfield compared to now. Also, Hazard is much better than Pulisic and Costa better than our strikers.

Just realized that Lampard is already halfway through his 3-year contract with the club. Am assuming any contract extension discussion will begin in the coming months (assuming things continue on the right track).

Ouch.

Am sure players took responsibilities in the past as well but there were still always stories about players being unhappy with the manager about something during a bad run. Obviously it's not a good look but if we're sitting here questioning Lampard on all sort of things, then imagine the players and whoever else who are working with Lampard on a daily basis and what they think. I mean, imagine the company you work executing a certain business approach but then things aren't working so well, the company is achieving bad results, would you at least be questioning whether things are being done right etc?

lol Not even going to go deep into this. What we're seeing out there is clearly whatever Lampard has been working with the players. He's the one training the players and the players are the ones executing whatever that is asked of them. If the players aren't doing things right, then it's Lampard's job to set them straight and guide them. But he isn't. You're lying if you don't think our football now is just all about spamming crosses.

The most damming thing of all is things look broken structurally. The reason I defended him last season is because it was obvious to anyone with eyes and (even basic) knowledge of underlying metrics that the defense would improve once we got better players in and it has. However the current problem's with our attacking play are so alarming I genuinely don't think a prime Pele would sort us out.

This month has been a huge fall from grace, not quite unprecedented but we've gone from Lampard finally looking like he was cracking the consistency issues to looking totally lost, and whenever that type of "snap" happens it usually only ends one way unfortunately.
