Today has clearly showed the bar which Chelsea must work towards reaching. At this moment we are pretty far away but the overreaction today on this forum is incredible. Sarri has been at the club

The decline in performances is a lot down to one thing, The lack of training pitch time. He is coming in, trying to teach the squad a totally different brand of football to what the players are a

I'm telling you now, to all the SarriOut supporters.... you don't know how lucky we are to have a humble manager like Sarri... a man with principle, passion, an expansive free flowing footballing phil

Tbh I don't think it's the fact he's critisised or even wanted out by some sections of the crowd that irks him, I think it's the way people go about it. Some of the culprits (cough*Rory Jennings*cough) justify it by saying it's because he doesn't connect with the fanbase, ok then what's the excuse for subjecting Jorginho to similar treatment when he's tried connecting with the fans to the point he put his mother in with us during games at the start? And you just know the same thing will happen to Pulisic next season (he's raw as anything right now and I'll be amazed if he hits the ground running), it's slowly starting already before he's even kicked a ball for us.

You're talking about the online abuse or abuse in the stadium itself? Both kinds are the worst, especially those idiots on Twitter.

To not do so and then dedicating the win to the Napoli fans instead is just taking the piss.

I just saw this!

WTF

Just when I was trying to develop some goodwill in my heart for the top 3 and the EL trophy too.

If you're referring to the Sarri/Jorginho situation then both.

For Christian it's (obviously) just online/socially right now but he's already getting slated whenever another club sign an (at this minute) better player for similar money. If he doesn't hit the ground running the crowd are going to murder him partly because they can and partly because they will get into their heads he should be replacing Hazard's output immediately as he took his place in the squad timing wise (should the ban stick), if CHO refuses to resign I can see it getting even worse, they will relate him coming in to Callum leaving even though it has next to nothing to do with him.

so out in the open then, whats everyones gut feeling?

given all the italian media stories, the dimarzio report of his agent meeting us to sort out an exit, but Sarri giving nothing away definitively, is he off or staying?

It's my primary concern with keeping him. This Europa win may build up a little goodwill for him but a part of me feels the damage has already been done this season and I worry that he is one bad performance away from the fans on his back again. The atmosphere at times was toxic this season and it's not an ideal situation for anyone involved.

Ideally he could really do with a transfer window to bring in 3 or 4 players to help reshape this squad because I do think there's a good core here and with a couple of really high quality additions the potential is there to kick on again next year.

you cant deny him another season no, but part of me thinks he might want the Juventus gig, too

He just said he deserves to stay here and wants to be here for the duration of his contract.

Can only hope that's the case where then Lampard, who hopefully will be ready, takes over.

He deserves to stay for another season. I don't want Lampard, it's too soon.

Exactly my thoughts concisely put.

Precisely.

Also Sarri's constant criticism has been he hasnt won anything, but as you said we humiliated Arsenal second half in a Europa League final, playing excellently. He also said in an interview he has to win more trophies now so they dont just say hes won one.

I hope he stays for another season at least and can get the team playing more consistent and get another trophy or two, I mean we got to the Carabao Cup final as well this season so why cant we get there again next year or to the FA cup final? As well as a stronger top 4 finish as we wont challenge for the league and having a strong CL run? He deserves every chance to do it.

I agree with this.  The only thing working against this is if the transfer ban stays in effect this summer.  I think he can improve the squad by bringing in some players we had on loan this season but I don't think that will be enough to improve the results much beyond this past season.

Maurizio Sarri will tell Chelsea that he wants stay at the club next season if they are prepared to give him their full backing.

Sarri will ask for assurances that Chelsea are ready to back his tactical approach and man-management methods.

Maurizio Sarri wants to stay at #Chelsea, but will demand greater support if he remains in charge next season in talks with club hierarchy.

Even if I don't mind Lampard becoming the "coach", the rational feeling is:

-Would you replace a manager that in his first season got a top 3 finish in PL, won Europa League humiliating Arsenal in the final and is wanted by Juventus, would you replace this guy for a guy that best job as manager is finishing 6th in Championship?

That sums it up. That is how ridiculous the demand is. Truly astonishing logic.

I still hope that we will eventually replace Sarri with a superior coach. But given the squad he has and the chaos the club is in he has achieved what could be expected. So replacing him with a wild card like Lampard as he is yet after one season is an absolute wild idea. Also there is no denying Sarri has developed during his spell here so far.  The counter attacks that broke Arsenals neck were clearly rehearsed and different to the slow transition we have seen over the season. I liked it and if we can keep that up i think i am ok with giving him more time given the alternatives. To be clear i still dont like the rigid 4 3 3, his outdated posession obsession, his general demeanor anf i dont believe his idea of football should be the future of this club but it makes no sense to stop backing him the moment he appears to have turned the tide and we are playing something that looks like Chelsea football again.

Keep him but don't make the same mistake we did with Conte. In giving a new improve contract only to sack him later.

Keep things as is, the contract we gave him and continue to do the job.

Because if by November we still doing crap and no progress then he will get the sack eventually. Or just let his 2 year contract finish in the summer.

It's crazy how the running of this club has somehow persuaded the fans that sacking a manager at the first sign of trouble is necessary.. so much soo that they are even debating sacking a manager who has won a European trophy and delivered CL football for the club. Ontop of which was all done through chaos and turmoil. Why are we even talking about only giving Sarri one more season. The man is not only completing the objectives given but more. The topic of discussion should be on how to keep this man building for the future at all costs. 🤷‍♂️

Really? With all his comments about his love for Napoli, I can't see him betray the Napoli fans and go to Juventus.
