He actually usually delivers when he starts. It is hard for him to do something when he play just 10, 15, 20 minutes.

CHO for Chelsea so far: 3318 minutes which equals just 36.8 games. 11 goals and 11 assists and he is so young.

The thing is, the very good/top top players can make an impact in only 10-20 minutes.

Callum has to push himself to affect a game every time he plays, be it for 10 minutes or 90 minutes.

No one doubts his talents but the huge contract has given him unwanted expectation from fans and imo I agree with it because the wages are crazy.

He will be a key figure here in the coming seasons but still can do more, he has to keep improving every aspect of his game as well as adding an intensity and fearlessness to how he plays. Its easy to stand someone up and pass it to the fullback or central midfielder. Be brave, take them on, look at Neymar, Messi and Sancho in particular, these guys in 1 v 1s are always are positive and always want to beat people. Even if it looks near impossible.

Marcos Alonso to Hudson-Odoi: “Bayern Munich? We are Chelsea, another great team, the Premier League is the most competitive league in the world, I don’t know why someone would go to Bayern Munich” Ha

Callum Hudson-Odoi has more assists in 59 minutes than Willian has since October.

At last a manager speaking clearly, straight and not dodging questions.

CHO not going anywhere in January, according to The Athletic...

https://theathletic.com/2241976/

Chelsea will ignore any offers to loan or buy Callum Hudson-Odoi when the transfer window opens next month, my colleague Simon Johnson explains.

Hudson-Odoi was left out of the Chelsea squad that beat Leeds 3-1 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. The winger was also not included in the 18 for Tottenham’s visit to Stamford Bridge the previous Sunday.

This means he has played just 14 league minutes over the past five weeks (he came on as a substitute at Newcastle on November 21) and started just one game in the competition since the season began.

It has been reported that the winger is now considering leaving in the new year for more regular first-team football. He still has ambitions of making it back into the England squad for the European Championship next summer.

However, The Athletic has been told that Chelsea do not want to let Hudson-Odoi go because not only is he still a player of huge potential, it would leave coach Frank Lampard with a lack of options to play out wide in the title race.

Chelsea currently have Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner, who has played on the left-hand side on a regular basis, as the other main choices to operate on the flanks. Mason Mount and Kai Havertz can also play there but that is only considered to be a last resort as the duo are better operating centrally.

The club had already decided Hudson-Odoi was not going anywhere before Ziyech limped off against Leeds with a hamstring injury. The Morocco international has been undergoing tests to discover the severity of the problem but is expected to sit out the next few games at the very least. The incident has only strengthened Chelsea’s resolve to hang on to Hudson-Odoi.

Bayern Munich failed in a bid to sign Hudson-Odoi on a season-long loan with an option to buy in October. It was the second time they have tried to acquire the England international, who rejected the Bundesliga club to sign a five-year contract with Chelsea in 2019. Chelsea will ignore a third approach if they make one.

Lampard has named the 20-year-old in the first XI for three of their Champions League group matches and he is expected to feature once more against Krasnodar on Tuesday night. The Chelsea manager insisted last week that he wouldn’t pick Hudson-Odoi just to stave off the threat of Bayern’s interest.

If that's the case, then Ziyech and CHO should be back in the squad for the Christmas period games.

Just need to escape the Everton, Wolves and West Ham games unscathed...

Interesting (stupid) stat:

Our goal difference with CHO on the pitch this season is 20:1

Only Spurs goal in Cup we conceded.

hope he plays a lot more, I still think he will be a very good player

the only players we have on the official roster (and not out on loan) who are shit are

Kepa
Willy Caballero  (other than pens)
Marcos Alonso
Emerson
Abdul Rahman Baba
Danny Drinkwater
Charly Musonda Jr.

He's starting to today so it's about time he showed and proved how good he is, this is a perfect opportunity for him to be the shining light today.

He was the best player in that second half against Arsenal, now's his chance to step up and show balls and courage.

Callum, we are waiting!

Good sub but cannot play the whole game. Not effective.

Bottled his chance, I expected him to do that he's fucking bang average.

He was easily our best attacker and created lots of chances?

I thought that was a very encouraging performance. Not sure what you're expecting from him tbh.

I'm not fooled by flashy outside of the foot passes across the field and the fact he once again slowed down when driving at people.

The lad is nowhere near as good people make out, just another middle of the road winger.

You're being so unfair, this is his first PL start in months, he's playing with Kanté and Azpilicueta aside him which hardly inspires creativity... He's not playing in his best position (LW), and still created some good chances (especially Werner towards the end who should've bagged that chance). He didn't perform a 10/10 game but for his first game back what exactly were you expecting?

He's literally JUST turned 20 last month, you think he's not going to get better as a player either? You genuinely think the Champions of Europe who were contemplating on signing him for huge money didn't do their homework either?

Callum will make it, whether it's here or somewhere else.

I'm not being unfair I am being totally realistic. And I tell you what I was expecting today, it was a performance of someone who wants to be a main stay in this team for years. But I think I got too caught up in his cameo of the Arsenal game when he actually did something half decent for fucking ages.

Today, at Full-Time we have another answer after CHO started a game, he's simply not good enough and doesn't do it when given the chances.
