Giroud is one of the best signings of past years. He had zero hype. He was cheap.  Yet he was key in Europa League trophy last season, and he was key in saving our season. Team looked set to fini

Genuine applause to the fans yesterday from him. Players who give their all are always loved by fans no matter who they may have played for. Well done Giroud and let's hope your example rubs off

Excellent image of Giroud doing a Costa with all the fallen Saints!

Not sure how I'd feel if he goes because in all fairness, I know he isn't lightening quick or particularly a world class player in any regards but he has the ability to combine with players and also offers an alternative option. As well as that he works extremely hard and leaves everything on the pitch. I think he'd be worth keeping around this season, I know he left Arsenal to play every week and he did get some starts here but I seriously doubt he'd start every week at Atletico who are reportedly interested in him.

SSN understands Atletico Madrid have made an enquiry about taking Chelsea’s Olivier Giroud on loan – but the Blues would prefer to do a permanent deal

He fits Atletico perfectly for the Torres role but he will play more here. Also why should we let him leave after only 6 months. Yes he is slow and cant score goals but other than that he is an amazing player. Also has it it off withbthe fans so i dont know why he would want to leave or we should let him go. But to loan him out would be too dumb even for our board. He only has 1 year left on his contract

I hope we keep him. He's a great guy and an excellent option to have on the bench who's capable of occasionally starting games as well. Unless someone offers £50m for him I don't see why we should get rid of him.

He is deffo one I do NOT want to sell. The guy is pure class and is a great changeup striker. He busts his arse every minute on the pitch and does all the dirty work.

He's my first choice to lead the line this season. PL experience, good finisher and a big, big morale after winning the WC. Unlike Morata, at least Giroud looks like A MAN, not only in terms of looks, but in his head also.

32 in a month and a bit slow, but I can't see Chelsea playing on the counter this season. Maybe against City in both matches and probably away to Liverpool or Tottenham, but otherwise I think we'll see a different Chelsea this season, with better possession of the ball and Giroud is the perfect type of centre forward for this. Midfielders and wingers will bring lots of balls into the last 10-15m from goal, I trust Giroud there and not Morata to burry all the chances.
