So now everyone is injury prone who had been injured before? Yeah, Emerson had one serious knee injury but it doesnt mean that he is Marin or Reus. Azpilicueta tore his acl at Marseille but he plays 60 matches every season for 6 years.

Well if he recovers and hopefuly he does, he probably wont be playing for Chelsea for weeks or maybe months. Before he will play he will need to get fit and adopt to PL, I doubt Conte would just throw him in matches.

This is more like early summer signing and he will show his qualities (or lack of) next season.

We needed new LB and while price is realy good, we bought someone who we probably wont be able to use for quite a while, leaving us to just good old Alonso

Conte playing Barkley against Arsenal suggests he’ll play Emerson if he’s fit. Whether or not he’s able to play at a competent level is a completely different story.

There's always the chance that Emerson's been earmarked by one of our actually competent scouts. If Conte hardly knows Emerson, I doubt anyone else on the board knows more. So, who came up with the name? A scout surely. Hopefully one of our best, not an intern.

Our next manager is Italian as well (Carlo or Allegri) who may actually know Emerson well and we're signing him on their instruction.
