CORK LOAN TO SAINTS

Jack Cork has today (Thursday) joined Southampton on loan until January 1, 2009.

The 19-year-old spent last season on loan at Scunthorpe United in the Championship, and was voted the club's Player of the Year after 35 appearances for the Glanford Park club.

Cork made his first appearance for the first team in last year's pre-season tour of America, and captained England at this summer's European under-19 Championship.

Cork is one of those players who I think have a lot of potential. He was very impressive for Scunthorpe last season and Southampton, whilst at the same level, will be a different proposition for him as they have a stronger squad. Hope to see him in the first team, soon.

That is an excellant loan move for him to be honest! Hopefully he can go there and impress as much as he did at Scunthorpe and then try and make the next step.
