Danny Drinkwater will return to Chelsea in days – but could have a new home already

If Villa take Drinkwater on loan, then they can't do so with Batshuayi. A PL club can only take one player on loan from another PL club.

oh fuck, I did not know that, ffs

we are so so mismanaged

staggering ineptitude when it comes to talent, negotiations of sales and buys, and contractual management

we are in the Big Six of the worst-run top 25 clubs strictly speaking of those departments only

Chels, Manure, Arse, AC Milan, Real Madrid, Barca

Manure and Real and Barca are so huge they can afford to fuck up for years on end

we are not and it is catching up to us finally

and it is destroying Arse even more atm (maybe, it is close as we have so much more deadwood on the books) and has already destroyed AC Milan

Chelsea 'demand Danny Drinkwater's full wages paid in any loan exit'

https://www.sportsmole.co.uk/football/chelsea/transfer-talk/news/chelsea-demand-drinkwaters-full-wages-paid-in-any-loan-exit_385153.html

Aston Villa will reportedly have to shell out the entirety of Danny Drinkwater's wages if they are to sign the midfielder on loan from Chelsea this month.

The Midlands side are desperate to add midfield reinforcements this month following a severe injury to John McGinn at the end of last month.

Drinkwater started the 2019-20 season on loan at Burnley but has since returned to Stamford Bridge after failing to nail down a regular spot in Sean Dyche's side.

According to The Sun, Villa must front all of Drinkwater's wages, thought to be around £110,000 a week, in order to sign the player on loan until the end of the season.

The Englishman, who was part of Leicester City's remarkable Premier League triumph, has struggled since completing a move to Chelsea in 2017.

Villa boss Dean Smith is also on the search for emergency reinforcements up front after an injury to new signing Wesley ruled him out for the entire season.

Aston Villa make Danny Drinkwater transfer decision after Chelsea wage demands emerge

Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater is looking for a new club after cutting short his loan at Burnley.

https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1224737/Aston-Villa-transfer-news-Danny-Drinkwater-wages-Chelsea-loan-Burnley

Aston Villa have decided they will not pay Danny Drinkwater’s £110,000-a-week wages which Chelsea are demanding are stumped up in full for them to sanction a loan move for the midfielder. Drinkwater recently returned to Chelsea after cutting short his spell at Burnley

Having become a peripheral figure at Chelsea, Drinkwater barely got the chance to put himself in the shop window under Sean Dyche, but made just two appearances in all competitions this season.

The 29-year-old’s stint at Turf Moor, which was initially a half-season deal, was marred by an incident at a nightclub which resulted in him sustaining an ankle injury.

Villa nonetheless expressed an interest in temporarily signing the one-time Premier League winner due to John McGinn’s ankle injury which sideline for a further few months.

But Villa Park chiefs were told by their Chelsea counterparts that they would have to cover Drinkwater’s £110,000-a-week wages in full.

Jesus, just sell him off already!

We would get a better rate of return renting him out to bored Knightsbridge and Belgravia housewives for a bit of the old in-out after a hard tackle in the bedroom.

Easily the worst transfer ever, at least some of the other flops were hyped and made sense, this guy never had any hype everyone knew he is shit from the beginning.

I was actually arguing with some Chelsea fans a few years ago when they said he will take our midfield to the next level with Kante next to him -_-

The first few pages of this thread are a total embarrassment of our state.
