Bertrand is like Moses, get's better the more he doesn't put on a Chelsea shirt, by the looks of it Baba will be in that category sooner or later.

Hell of a struggle for him yesterday and he was clearly being targeted. An upgrade is a must and I think Conte knows by now. That's not to say Alonso won't be a useful squad player for a few year

Difference is Bertrand has proven to be quality by making the premier league side of the season.

 

Baba always looked in over his head.

You can't blame the board for selling the players the coach didn't trust because his tactics demanded 6 tall players on the pitch.

Solid enough squad option, but Ryan is the definition of absense making the heart grow fonder, i remember he got those run of games under Rafa and during them the forum came to an almost unanimous verdict that he was nothing special and not good enough to be Ash's long term left back successor.

Luke Shaw is were we missed the boat left back wise, he would have been so perfect for us it hurts.

Bertrand was the best LB in the league the season before last.

Injured.

I think the point about Bertrand is that he was UNDOUBTEDLY better than any option we had at the time and arguably still till now.

True. I still can't believe we gave up LEFT BACK HOMEGROWN player who can do job better than anyone in this team.
