He was an important piece in the defensive line. He provided little going forward, but especially last season, found himself in opportunistic positions to score some goals. He had 6, 7th on the team.

But take away his goals and what do you get? A fullback who can't cross and not even that great at defending his wing imo. Imo we would've looked even better if Jose used Luis/Azpi as fullbacks.

We definitely would have going forward, but the defense was rock-solid and that is partly to do with Ivanovic.

Oops sorry then must've misread it, I hate Alves as well but he's a better fullback than Iva imo, well atleast for me he is. I like my fullbacks to be fast and be able to cross.

Luis and Azpi was far too hand in glove for JM, it didn't fit the defensive structure as they would of gone forward a lot better than what we see now, he doesn't like attack as we know. Instead we are stuck with a big fucking lump at RB who's the shits at crossing and gets arse raped by Marc Albrighton. And Azpilicueta who should be on the right, back in his rightful position.
