Should have started today, but looked really great when he came on.

If we had a real third striker threat I wouldn't be surprised to see him and Costa start together. Looked a good threat even playing from midfield.

Was excellent when he finally got on. Didn't realise how well he could do out wide as a support striker. Good on ya buddy, hopefully tonight a lesson has been learned. Drogba on for last 20, never ever Remy. He has too much to offer.

I understand the reason why we are not playing Costa as starter as much as I understand we will give Drogba playing time someday, but what is the logical reason to not playing Remy as a starter today, if he is fit? Physically and mentality are in good condition imo.

Drogba just had a two week long break while Remy played two matches for France.

Didn't Drogba has just train and recover from injury ?

Allright, so that I prefer half fit Drogba rather than almost a full week rested Remy since his last france match (didn't count that much of his involvement in Swansea game, just 20 minutes will not impact anything to his physical condition imo) any day. Doesn't make sense to me.

Seems Mourinho really underestimating Schalke or he just want to play Drogba related to his last memory with Chelsea.

I defend and stick with Jose most of the time, but tbf this time, I disappointed with this decision. Too much gambling on it, despite you have a better option to play 'safe'.

Costa and Remy has been playing a lot since august, Mourinho probably wanted to rest them for the following weeks.

Drogba was shit last night, sure, but we should have beaten Schalke easily anyway. We could have score 2-3 goals in the first half.

Like I said on Didier"s thread, Jose has demonstrated many times that he doesn't do sentiments, he made a mistake playing him then keeping him on, but it had nothing to do with chasing 2005.

I think it may be cause Remy only trained with the squad for a really short amount of time while Didier has been there sine the start. Hence, Didier should be a bit more comfortable playing with the rest of the team. The other reason I can think of was that Jose was afraid they would try and park the bus early, and Drogba was put on to ensure they don't do that at the start else we just fling cross after cross to his head. Old as he is he still has his aerial ability.

Those are the only logical reasons I can come up with anyways.
