Using this to once again post the footballing brain that is His Highness Didi Hamann's pronouncements back in August : "Costa is overrated. He had a couple of good years for Atlético Madrid, but his

Mourinho on Costa's performance..

http://www.chelseafc.com/news/latest-news/2014/08/final-whistle-verdict--anything-is-possible.html

‘He produced a fantastic performance in every aspect,’ enthused Mourinho. ‘I remember in the first half he was tackling Coleman on the edge of our box. He recovered balls, he held the ball up, and he was aggressive.

‘He came face to face with Howard three times and he scored two goals. Howard made a good save in the beginning of the second half. His movement, his quality – everything was really good.

‘The only thing I didn’t like in this game, apart from some defensive mistakes, was the way some Everton players were trying to give problems to Diego. I don’t think this is English football, and I think it’s a contradiction with the Everton team because they are a positive side in every aspect of the game. To be chasing cards with a player that once more had good behaviour, and was just here to play football and to win the match, is disappointing.

‘The end of the story is that Diego is maybe the best player in the league in these first three matches. He is the top scorer, and he has two yellow cards: one against Burnley where he didn’t simulate, and today when everybody was chasing him to get him in trouble.’

Love the fact he managed to fuck with 3 defenders and the keeper on his own. Soon teams will be so focused on keeping him quiet they will forget about the likes of Hazard, Cesc, Schurrle, Oscar and willain .... happy days

Graham Poll you mean. I think he's referring to the 'dive' just before Ramires' goal (our 5th).

I don't even see what he should of been booked for when he was? It was all very petty. People are going to want him booked at every opportunity because he's unlikeable to opponents. Hopefully he doesn't rise to it and Jose keeps him calm.

Boo hoo. If Coleman wants to dish it out, he should be prepared to take it on the chin when some of it is served back.

Martinez in his time at Everton has always struck me as a bit snarky and back-handed towards Mourinho and Chelsea, so this doesn't surprise me.

I was more annoyed at Howard ,, he was just fucked at being beaten again ,,, RED CARD

While I do think Costa needs to calm down a little bit and that these little squabbles are petty, it happens on the pitch like almost in every game like Craig Burley said. It's nothing but because it's Costa, the media (and even the opposition manager in this case) are too keen to paint him as the bad boy and trying to create an issue out of nothing. Danny Murphy said on MOTD last night that Costa was just bantering and giving Coleman a taste of his own medicine and that there was nothing wrong with it. It's rather pathetic that Martinez and Everton can dish out the ugly treatment but can't take it when others hand it to them. Even worse when referees fall for it, like in the case of Jon Moss yesterday. Cracked under pressure from the Everton fans and players.

Is this guy taking the piss? :D Must've been the first time that something like this happened on a football pitch. Funny how some fans desperately try to make him the new suarez. Heard some liverpool fans saying he shouted at the disabled everton fans after colemans og :D Fuck them all
