Of course it had to happen to us again -_- Why can't we have a quiet window we're we get all our first targets and avoid all the drama. Hope it's solved fast so we can forget Costa ever played for us and move on to other position besides a striker.

Thing is...we've made allowances for contributing players before...

Drogba has thrown tantrums,..after Mourinho left.., when Phil was here and not to mention the red card in the CL final..

We stuck with him and see where that got us...

If Conte sees someone better than Costa coming in to do a better job, then that's fine....but otherwise, I think the club bosses should just bite their lips and do everything in their power to hold onto him.

Its not just a case of a player leaving. Costa gets along superbly well with his team-mates, the Spanish/Brazilian contingent, and not to mention Hazard. Granted it was a low blow to make this public, but I don't know how this would affect the team chemistry when they learn of this revelation... I think this situation could have been handled more carefully by the player and his bosses. All said and done, Costa's season is FAR from bad as a player. 20 goals, a lot of them really crucial to our points tally, and earned us our PL title, and nearly got us back in to the FA cup final.

If Conte's idea of replacement is just Lukaku, I will be extremely worried going ahead into the new season.

dont compare drogba era to now. back then chelsea didnt have a reputation and were building one. Back then drogba is the best we could get. So yea we had to manage.

Post champions league era we are now qualified to chase the likes of morata, Mbappe, Dani Alves and we are qualified to land people like hazard and even pedro. So we won't tolerate such nonsense from costa. Its high time we treat some of our players like how we treat our coaches by sacking them when needed

This is priceless. Bravo Antonio! You can all thank to Diego Costa for talking to media, it's not Antonio's fault.

A lot of payers get this kind of messages (be it via SMS or MMS, you need to get that info sooner rather than later, and we even don't know the full story), but only Costa did what he did. Why? Because he is Costa. Not ours, soon. :)

It's not really important who will come in, Lukaku, Morata,... someone decent surely will - CHELSEA JUST SHOWN WHY WE ARE A BIG CLUB, CLUB THAT WILL NEVER BE SOMEONE'S BITCH!

Like arsenal is to Ozil and Sanchez:cig:

I'm actually curious to what bluelyon would say to somehow pass the blame to the club/ the media/ conte/ the universe/ the aliens :D

Costa makes baloteli look likes a saint, a true master in pissing everyone off act

Im not the kind of guy that changes opinion (in this case football releated) on player instantly after reading some bs in media or seeing certain player perform poor for a while. Its a fact that Costa has brought plenty of good to Chelsea, the club I supported through most of my life. There are plenty of celebrations and joy surrounding my memories of Costa, something Im not willing to ditch just because media stirs the shit. That goes for every player I supported or shared positive/negative opinion. It has to convince me otherway to change it, or I will stick to it.

Im certainly not the guy you can sell me something I already have opinion on

Now, indeed I also never believed Costa could be such a dick that media makes him look like, but I may just be biased towards Costa in this case.

I said many times Im fine though with selling Costa, for benefit of club as he is unstable, if we find equaly good or better striker. What got into me is the shit some people throw at Costa after all the good he did for this club.

Obviously if he is actualy acting like a dick that media shows him, then so be it, Im wrong about him and needs to leave asap. We can point out on Conte for messaging?! Costa he doesnt count on him no longer too, but obviously Costa is making unnecessary circus around whole situation that is hurting club. I would say both sides have done mistake.

However Im still waiting for an answer, a proof that Costa indeed wanted to go to China after he recently said that was not an option because he wants to play in WC, yet everyone ignoring that and keeps saying he started playing bad in january because we didnt allow him to leave to china and on top he apparently hates Chelsea, despite clearly showing on pitch he cares for the club.

The only thing proven was his desire to return to Atletico which was interviewed. He also said he likes Chelsea alot, but not London. Is that something so hard to understand? Every footballer is a human too, just because he gets millions, doesnt mean he must act all professional when his personal life in London doesnt suit him at all. If thats the case sell him and be done with.

On current matter, he is showing once again he is a loose cannon and we need to sell him, but honestly you dont text someone after 3 years that you dont need him. If it was me, I wouldnt take it calmly either. The situation was badly dealt by both Costa and Conte (or the board).

Are you kidding? Are you high? Did you just absolutele turn a blind eye into what has been posted in this thread? Are you telling the club to just suck it after a player shove a middle finger into their face in a worst possible way? What if he decides to get a red card every game instead of continue to play for us if we keep him? What? What?

I'm seriously question your logic.

No. No. No. And no. No. No.

Okay

My point is players like Drogba were a rarity back then...and are a rarity right now. And honestly, the reputation of the club has nothing to do with it...How do you think City got so many superstars within a short span of time? How are the Chinese clubs luring players?

I'm glad we're linked with the likes of players Mbappe and Morata. But how easy is to get them? We're having to face a battle with the likes of Everton to get someone like Lukaku, and for what? 80mill plus?

The probably is our board trying to haggle for anyone and everyone when the likes of City, Madrid & PSG just throw the money down.

Things have changed a lot in the last decade.

City is a far richer club than chelsea have been even though it hurts to admit it. They got those players by paying extra bucks which we couldn't do to be honest. they where more or less the china in that era. And just to make it clear non of the teams in the epl are richer than the chinese clubs. If they where to be ranked for wealth we wouldn't be in the top 10 clubs.

i do like the image that chelsea have as a rich club but honestly we can't sign some of the players and pay some of the wages the likes of Man U, real madrid and mancity are paying

Mate...Costa's only been here for 3 seasons. And he's only ever wanted to leave during the 3'rd season...Yes, once at the start of it, and now the two most recent attempts (Jan, and following). But mind, the only bit that was ever confirmed by the player himself was the move he tried to make before the start of the season.

I'm not making Costa to be innocent...I'm pretty sure there's more than meets the eye, and Conte wouldn't have just texted the player in such a naive manner. My point is, this is just the baggage that we have to deal with when having Costa...For all these antics of his, I still don't think we should hasten his departure without making sure we have good cover for his position.

Yes, those clubs spent silly money...and yes, like you said there's little chance we can do the same even after this successful season... We have a stadium expenditure coming up...and while we won the PL, the earnings aren't too much greater than what PL clubs below us got. Besides, foreign clubs will always demand more transfer fees from English clubs. This is the new trend....In this climate, what are the odds that we go and get exactly the type of player we need>

This is supposed to be the season to sign plenty of strong reinforcements to make an even stronger squad...Not spending silly money to replace key players.....

Finally, most of our fans are now finally seeing this fucker for who he truly is.

Hope he fucks off ASAP. Preferably to China so we won't see him again in Europe. Never liked the cunt. Scoring goals is his fucking job and he gets paid a fortune to do so, so I won't thank him for it.

This is also the end of that horrific DIEGODIEGODIEGO chant.

Damn that chant really pissed me of but for the irony of it sometime made me laugh especially when he falls flat on his ass and expects a foul.

Conte spent enough time tiptoeing around Costa's ego, so I don't see a reason to highlight any shortcoming of our manager at all.

Nope your mistaken. He has done this every summer but this season he crossed the line. He did it at the beginning, the middle and the end

I love how some people conveniently ignore all sort of troubles costa has caused this season and the fact that he has been talking how he want to leave this club since last summer.

But hey, it's conte fault for going out of his way to send a wishing messages to all players to which costa replied with a completely unnecessary "mind your own bussiness". It's conte fault that he lost his temper right there and said what most members in this forum wanted to since Jan "fuck off". So it's perfectly reasonable for him to broke the professional code of "what happened in dress room, stay in dress room" and speak out in public. All because he can score 20 goals!

what a wonderfully twisted logic I've read. But the media could have make this all up! what could I possibly know?

Though I do agree that conte should learn by now that there are some kind of people not deserved to treat with honesty.
