Re: Cesc Fabregas: Barcelona midfielder set to leave club.

« Reply #72 on: June 2, 2014, 03:31:56 PM »

If Chelsea are in for him then there's literally no point in entertaining the thought. God knows what they'll be offering in wages.

Agreed, if Chelsea are really set on getting Cesc we have no chance. He'll utterly stagnate there like Mata, Hazard and every creative midfielder there. But he'll be on big wages, a London club and play CL football.

We are going to ruin him :0)

Have a hard time believing we'll sign this weak minded cunt instead of a future superstar like Paul Pogba.

Costa, Pogba & Shaw ffs Jose.

Think wider now...we have enough money to get both if we want or need.

We probably wont but we have money, no doubt.

But first of all, just be happy if we get Cesc alone.

The transfer window is far from being closed. Maybe Jose is waiting for Oscar to increase his value by winning the World Cup and put him on the market? €45-50m? Then go for Pogba/Vidal/any other top midfielder and play Fabregas as a playmaker?

I just have a feeling Chelsea's midfield will be Matic - (?) - Fabregas. Hopefully "?" won't be Ramires or Paulinho.

I sound incredibly negative right now but imagine a Pogba and Matic midfield pairing. Fabregas would be a great alternative if Juve refuse to sell but Matic/Pogba would easily be the best midfield in the World.

Fabregas also encourages more of Ramires in midfield next season. Can't see Jose playing Cesc and Oscar together.

Arsenal fan posted this at Redcafe:

Tonight's meeting with Gazidis threw up some issues. A mate of mine went along (shareholder at the club) and he told me that there was a direct question about Cesc to Ivan which he batted away expertly with some comment about 'many players we're looking at, just a name bandied about in the media' etc.
After the event, during drinks, he was more open and said that Arsene didn't see him as a priority. When challenged on this, he apparently said that everyone at Arsenal would have preferred him just to stay at Barcelona and for this all not to happen. Another director is quoted as saying that Arsenal have 'other similarly large fish frying at the moment' so Cesc was out of the picture.
