Superblue_1986 5,330 Posted Monday at 11:32 Share Posted Monday at 11:32 Marina leaving could have a big impact on our transfer activity this summer but she was never going to be staying long term after Roman sold. Let's see what Boehly is made of this summer as it sounds like he has taken control of the Lukaku negotiations. Will be interesting to see now what happens to Cech. I don't think his role is perhaps as intertwined with the old ownership as Marina and Buck were, and his affection and standing within Chelsea is way beyond the board room. He's been in his role at the club 3 years now learning and developing and from what it sounds like he is a hugely important link for Tuchel at the club so he doesn't have to manage upwards perhaps to the lengths he did at Dortmund and PSG, so I'm hoping Cech stays.
Pizy 15,988 Posted Monday at 11:37 Share Posted Monday at 11:37 Guess we know why we’ve done fuck all so far. Seems like everything is in flux behind the scenes and Matt Law mentions that Boehly himself is negotiating transfers. A guy who doesn’t know the ins and outs of European football. Hopefully he installs a top class DoF soon.
Blues Forever 1,010 Posted Monday at 11:40 Share Posted Monday at 11:40 Hope Boehly doesn't appoint Andrea Berta, his transfer history are mostly bad.
milka 2,816 Posted Monday at 13:56 Share Posted Monday at 13:56 Boehly-Clearlake will almost certainly have to appoint a new sporting director but until then Boehly and Tuchel will take on the bulk of the responsibility left behind by Marina Granovskaia. chelsea_4_eva 860 Posted Monday at 14:32 Share Posted Monday at 14:32 The scouting team really needs to be re-evaluated. 2

Someone who has taken over a European super club and runs a hugely successful franchise as it is, I wouldn’t be surprised if he is as shrewd as he’s made out to be. He undoubtedly will have done his homework, as will scouts at the club and he will undoubtedly have huge inputs from Tuchel on preferred targets. Getting jumpy because nothing has happened yet is standard OTT panicking for on here but theres so much other things that need to be done ie. new chairman, someone replacing Marina long term, all the loose ends and structuring/restructuring after the take over, replacing/continuing sponsors who left/suspsended deals after Roman was sanctioned amongst others undoubtedly plus new deals for Reece and Mason will be a top priority. It sure doesn’t happen overnight. Patience is needed for this first month or 2. Edited Monday at 14:57 by OneMoSalah

Blues Forever 1,010 Posted Tuesday at 12:57 Share Posted Tuesday at 12:57 Timestamp 08:18. Matt Law confirms Marina was in fact in charge of transfers at Chelsea: "She ran the club. She decided on contracts. She decided on transfers. Every football aspect needed her sign-off."

This is what I thought. I have said for years that she must've been the one in charge of final sign off as she clearly had a lot of power and most after RA but people refused to believe it and made out like she was some number crunching bookeeper. Personally, I don't think it was the plan to have Granny leave this early in the process (Buck doesn't really surprise me, as I always suspected TB would step into his role) as we're in the middle of the window and she has obviously been the go to contact but something must've happened/been realised. My suspicion (obviously all this is) is that the contract management and transfer handling hasn't gone down well when they've actually got their feet on the ground and TB/Clearlake are of the opinion it cannot go on. MoroccanBlue 4,257 Posted Tuesday at 13:17 Share Posted Tuesday at 13:17 Seems they blame her for the Lukaku situation. @Blues Forever What did he say regarding "Midfield Decisions'?
