Because he will be used.

He is still one of the fastest player in the team, and when playing a counter attacking style he will be good.

Especially on second half when teams will be more tired.

This season he will be more of a super sub ala Schurrle for Germany.

Also, injuries are probably going to happen to our other AMs and when the games come thick and fast he will definitely get games.

But do you guys think he should be on the RW? I know that is his favored position but I think he can make us a bit too narrow since he almost always decides to cut in. It happened quite a few times in preseason where he could have taken a shot with his right but decided to cut in instead and lost possession. I think he needs to brush up on his right foot to keep defenders guessing. If not, he may become too predictable.

I think he has done well in spells on the left. One game that stands out is Swansea away last season, he started on the right initially but was moved over to the left and was impressive from what I recall. But if Hazard isn't available I'd expect to see Schurrle there as that's his best position.

Good point, I forgot for a moment that Schurrle's best position is the LW. I guess starting on the right and switching around may be the best solution.
