Willian for Mata and Shaw. Win-win deal for everyone

No thanks, Mata isn't even half the player he was in 2012 and even that version would struggle for games under Conte.

Where would Mata even play in this formation? My best guess would be in Cesc's place in a 3-5-2, but even there I would rather Drinkwater than him, not because he's a better player but because he fits better.

The only place you could even think maybe is if we reverted to 3412 and he was Hazard's back up behind the strikers, but even if we did that hypothetical formation change i'd rather give that spot to Ruben when he returns.

God yes. If we could take a promising player from them for Willian it wouldn't even matter if we received money. We'd simply contribute to their continual downfall even more, which is worth at least 100m.

Willian is speedy and he also scores crucial goals.
I believe the best use of Willian is to send him down the wing and instruct him to run away from his marksmen by as much as he can.
This will make a dart out of him - he is better than Zappa in that respect or Alonso.
When Willian is used in the midfield he tries the best he can but he loses the person to person fights, because he is not big. Also many times he becomes a source of danger when he loses the ball.
If my "Willian system" is of any use then that's his role.
Otherwise we should look forward to give him to some other club - a foreign one preferably.

I say we chuck them £40m + Willian in return for Shaw and Martial.
That would be great business but can't see the latter leaving. We should be going for Shaw once again, though

Sorry to say this but Ray Wilkins is a complete idiot!

yes its surprising that he was so well thought of as our assistant - every time he opens his mouth about chelsea, he just sounds like an ignorant fan with little knowledge about football

Robben was at Real

Makelele was in his last season at Chelsea

Why bother? Mata and Shaw will be free agents next summer. Can start approaching them in January.

Sources close to Willian hint he’ll leave if Antonio Conte remains manager

If nothing else hope Conte stays just to see this guy go. Imagine United with so many limited players like Matic, Willian, Lukaku beautiful.

Ok Willian don't let the door hit you on the way out mate. And take David Luiz with you, too. Work rate merchant still living on the glory of those 2015/16 free kicks.

To be honest I think Conte shows him enough respect by still considering him as an attacking player - His stats and his general play as an attacking player makes the likes of Lingard and Mikhtaryan look like world beaters.

Wish United would come for him. Not only it will prevent them from signing and actual decent winger, but they'd be stuck with low footballing IQ players all over the pitch (Lukaku, Matic, Willian first to come in mind.)

You just know pundits will bring his name up everytime Hazard and Pedro aren't at their best:drunk:

As far as I know that provision only applies to transfers between leagues. Premier League teams are not permitted to contact each other’s players without the permission of the player’s existing club until contracts are fully expired. That certainly is how the rule used to be, and I am not aware that it has changed.

It still applies to now.

He genuinely isn’t even that anymore. Incredibly lazy on the pitch now, even when he comes on with like 10 mins left.
One of the reasons some were in favour of him starting previously has vanished. £50m or cash plus Shaw should be taken without question.
