Needs to relax a bit. Was very skittish last night and his movement was a little brainless at times, closing off spaces and coming far too deep for the ball. Obviously he was probably a bit nervous/excited but he's just got to relax into his role a bit.

Hoping to see some more of him because the simple fact is that he's shown absolutely nothing exceptional in a Chelsea shirt as of this moment.

Was disappointing yesterday, but it is pre season. However, in saying that, alot of other youngsters were also in early pre season and looked spectacular.

Needs to show more as pre season goes on.

Passing range only counts if most/some of those passes are accurate. I can't remember him completing any of his long passes. In that regard the difference between Pirlo and ramires is the passing accuracy as anyone can hit a long pass technically, the difficult part is picking out a teammate.

IIRC his passes did reach his intended targets hence the praise from me and Choulo.

After watching how an 8 month injury turned Kaka, who was the Ballon D'or at the time, into a less than average player, I'm always nervous when I see one of the players I like stay away from football for such a long time... I really hope van Ginkel will prove his talent is all still there soon, otherwise I'll be very worried...

I wonder if it's Mou's orders, or his injury making him play a more restricted role. I can't remember many times he's been near the opposition area this preseason.
