Regardless he would never had made it here, he has talent yes but over various loan spells he never showed that sort of level that guys like Courtois, De Bruyne, Lukaku or Christensen shown and in terms of younger players coming back with the chance of making it so lets no kid ourselves on and say that it would have been any different. He only got a start because of injuries and suspensions, he was gone as soon as the injuries/suspensions ended. Although football is not always black and white as in terms of using stats, for an attacking player to have made almost 100 appearances and to have only scored 7 goals shows you all you need to know. Like I've said still talented and perhaps Sassuolo will give him every chance of playing every week but again considering some of the players they have like Dominco Berardi, Kevin Prince Boateng, Alessandro Matri, Filip Duricic and Khouma Babacar, it is not a given he will play every week to start.

Shame it hasn’t worked out. I think I along with many others earmarked as a future star with his performances in the youth team.

Looking back at that time, I think it’s interesting I kind of knew there were parts of his game that were lacking. His dribbling was EXCELLENT but something of a party piece. He could only do it in central areas, even though he was great at it, if he played on the wing he’d invariably be quite quiet. While his dribbling was excellent in central areas his playmaking abilities weren’t as good as you’d expect from a normal no.10. He also had this problem where he drifted in and out of games..10 minutes of nothing then he’d beat 3-4 players, then 10 minutes of nothing..there were these flaws that I kind of turned a blind eye too because I was so excited about him. In full flow, honestly was just as good/satisfying to watch as Hazard/Messi.

If you look back on this thread I remember someone posting of the flaws to his game similar to what I’ve just said at the time of when he was ripping up youth teams. I knew somewhere deep down he was right lol but..

 

for first team football I think that his dribbling has become less of a strength for him. He no longer can just pick the ball centrally on the half turn as he did all the time for the youth team.

I don't really understand where they got Bogas stats from. They claim he scored 14 goals at Sassuolo this Season, but he has only scored 7 his whole career there. Am I getting my stats wrong or did I misunderstood the article?
