Sorry mate, you got me wrong. I never said/wrote that not supporting Torres makes anyone less of a fan. It does not make you better or worse...

Be honest to yourself, there are people who want Torres to have nothing more than an average season so we buy Falcao or Cavani. That is lack of support!

Whether we sign one of them two should not be based on how good a season Torres has. Even in Nando scores 40 goals this season and picks up numerous MOTM awards, if the funds are available to bring one of those two in we should do it regardless of the season Torres has.

I can proudly confirm I made some personal attempt to get him out of Chelsea. Went to the Wolfsburg game in Constance today and tried to convince them to buy Torres. tried everything from screaming to

Being shit on purpose to deflect criticism from his teammates and manager ... Because he's the hero Chelsea deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll hunt him. Because he can take it. Bec

Not at all, if Torres scores 40 goals (wont happen) we do not need to splash on those two players. We can buy a cheaper striker, Lewandoski, Remy, etc.

It's not just your point of view, it's others too. I have had countless of people who are just so blindly in love with Torres accusing me and others of not being proper Chelsea fans because apparently we hate Torres and want him to fail, but that couldn't really be any further away from the truth. That kind of bullshit gets on my nerves.

That is just not my behavior, so not my fault.

Fernando is very mentaly weak, if he feels that Falcao might be coming to take his spott and fans are not backing him up (not saying that they really are not), he will return to limbo.

Not both of them but one of them, its improving and evolving the team when your on top that keeps you at the top. If Torres comes back to form (which will delight me if he did) are we going to just stick with him as undisputed first choice to the extent we struggle to replace him even when he's past it (*cough*Malouda*cough*)?

2 years ago Barca had (and still do have) the two best central midfielder in the world in Xavi and Iniesta but they still went all out to sign Fabregas. A message that they don't plan to go anywhere.

Cole, Robben and Duff were 3 of if not the 3 best wingers in the League in 2005, but we still went out and bid £24m for Wright Phillips. Although it didn't work out signing (at the time) on of the hottest young properties despite having three players on top form their was a clear statement of intent if ever there was one.

United signed Tevez, Anderson and Nani in 2007 after getting the title back off us, signing a world class forward and (at the time) two of the brightest young prospect's in the world was a clear message to challengers that they don't plan to have the title taken away from Old Trafford any time soon.

United brought RVP despite Rooney and Welbeck developing a promising partnership last season. Signing RVP was a real statement of intent from Fergie that he wants the title back, signing Remy would not have been so. Infact all the example's i have mentioned have been serious statements.

If either of those two become available, we should jump at the chance to sign them.

But that IS the problem.

Nobody should be guaranteed anything in life (except taxes + death)

I'm a big fan of Nando - really like the guy.

BUT if he cannot handle CFC having 'other' striking options, then he needs to be sold. Nobody is bigger than the team, he needs to understand that.

In my heart the only thing that I see makes sense is Torres + cash back to Atletico for Falcao... I personally think that's the only way everybody involved can on one out of this one well - and maybe a further back-up striker too...

I'm not a hater, check my previous posts - just had time to reflect and this debate will never go away, we'll always be watching and expecting another disaster - not fair on the team and us, the fans....

There in-lies the problem.

Drogba saw off numerous contenders at his time at Chelsea to be number one forward. He shafted Sheva and Kezman aside, forced Gudjohnsen into midfield, forced Anelka on the wing, kept Torres out. Crespo was the only player that came even remotely close to taking that role of Drogba, and even he left after 1 year.

Torres should be prepared to fight and earn the honour of being called number 1 forward at this club and if that means having to do to Falcao/Cavani what Didier did to Sheva and himself, then so be it.

100% with you, but isnt a supposed 40 goals proved? Either way, having 2 world class st is fantastic.

In the bottom of my heart, I dont belive Torres playing good with a shadow on his back...

Yeah agree and if he does score 40 goals i would class him as number one forward until someone else comes in and proves they deserve it or he loses form again.

The other thing is after a 40 goal season he might become complacent, a new forward will be a reminder that he still needs to keep performing and scoring goals and he won't carry on getting picked on the back off a great season, which was a bit of a problem after we won the double with some of our players.

Just a random fact I came across.

Shevchenko played 46 league games for us, scoring 9 league goals.

Torres has played 49 league games for us, scoring 9 league goals.

Said and done.

Sheva was the biggest flop for Chelsea, and now Torres with those stats has prove to be the most expensive flop of the entire history of Chelsea.

It's a pity that Sheva never received the support that Torres is getting now.

Sheva's goals came against weaker opposition though, the league is much more open and difficult now. Under Jose we were winning the league with games to spare.

Its easier to score now than before, 06-08 near every match was a tactical game of chess.

Everyone loved Sheva. Only thing Torres has on his side is age.

Yeah well Mourinho did not loved him, and the club sending him out on some sort of exile was not great support.

While Torres get branded as number striker by the club.....

So yeah I wish Sheva had received more support like that, and maybe he would have come good like we are still hoping that Torres will come good.....

I suppose the difference is if Torres doesn't come good then what do we have? Whereas with Shevchenko, if he didn't come good we had our creates striker of all time (in my opinion).

Naah. Even when we still had Drogba, Anelka etc, most fans were still supporting Torres. It has gotta to do with the looks as far as those fangirls are concerned.

Sheva played a lot of those games on the wing, he didn't have the luxury of actually playing in his regular position - he was decent all things considered compared to Torres.

Its still a valid point i reckon. Drogba and Anelka were getting older and were clear not the long term solution, whereas when shevchenko was playing Drogba was still quite young and had many years left to play.

He didn't at all. We played two up top, Drogba and Sheva both coming wide when needed.
