I watched the game till the 80th minute, i guess. What can i tell you... for such a young lad he controls the ball quite well, confidence is flying high and he loves taking on opponents, when in full flow he glides through midfield and defense, there was one moment of magic, imo, but most of the time he ends up against 3 guys and that's too much. He gets dispossessed, sometimes in dangerous areas which leaves his team exposed to counter attacks. He still has a lot to learn, far from ready, but the talent is there. If you can take out Alba then it ain't so bad. Overall in my view he made a positive impression, he brought more fun into the game, he actually tried. It did not help that Betis were down to 10 men for majority of the game so when Musonda came on, he was having to do tons loads of defending. Had it been 11 against 11, we would have seen more of him which is a shame but yeah did a nice little run where he glided past couple or three player then eventually lost it. But yeah, decent outing considering the circumstances.

He had one great run but he ended up giving the ball away cheaply. On defense should have tracked back better, especially that Betis was down to ten men. Not to be too harsh on the boy, but he clearly still has a long way to go from what I've seen of him at Betis, but the talent is very clearly there. Would love to see him for a second season at Betis or some other mid-table team in Spain.

Shakez 755
Chelsea veteran Gus Poyet will manage Musonda next season: http://realbetisbalompie.es/es/noticias/actualidad/6883/gustavo-poyet-entrenador-del-real-betis-para-las-d I think i remember he tends to favor possesion based football (4-3-3). Hope he takes Musonda to the next level next year, it also helps they both speak english!

Assuming Charly is still there, they'll communicate in Gus's native tongue.

Shakez 755
Hoping he ups his game to another level next year at Betis. The kid has an incredible work-ethic wich impresses me alot: It is off-season for him but he still reguraly posts stuff of him hitting the gym on snapchat and instagram. Pains me to see players like Willian, Hazard, and Costa turn up fat whenever they return from off-season. Btw, do you guy's think he will join the first-team in pre-season? Or will he go straight back too Betis?

Shakez 755
Charly changed his number from nr. 9 to nr 7 at Real Betis, emulating his idol Cristiano Ronaldo Real Betis first match will also be against FC Barcelona!
The Skipper 20,593
Hopefully he has a big season and takes La Liga by storm. Time to start integrating these talented youths into the squad. Either as squad players or hopefully the first XI (as would hopefully be the case in Charly's situation).

Betis should be fun to watch next season too. I've watched some of their preseason games, and Poyet seems to favor young technical players (sold players like N'Diaye), and plays a possession based style (4-3-3). They're aiming big this year (european spots), and they brought in alot of new players (no big competition for Musonda though). Musonda will probably play as their main left-winger. Everything is stacked in his favour to develop next season, if he can add some more end-product to his game he should be ready to fight for a place in our squad next year!

Leif 6,006
With Boga at Granada and Charly at Real Betis (in Seville), I might spend 3 months on the Costa del Sol pinging back and forth between games of theirs. The 2 cities has only Malaga between them. It'd be a good memory, especially if one or both actually go on to make it as household names.
robdog 2,084
I just caught the highlights of Betis vs 'boro - Young Charlie was very active & energetic - he didn't start but when he arrived he showed a lot of flair & creativity - interesting on how his career will develop w/ CFC
It's too big 625
Honestly would have kept this lad back and used him in the squad or first team sporadically. A loan spell is great n all, but he is by far one of the best technical players we have at the club.
