Eden Hazard

We all wish for and want him to stay but I feel his mind has been made up. There's just no way to explain how a player who was unplayable for much of last season can just fall off of a cliff the next unless his heart and mind simply aren't in it any longer.

It'll be infuriating if next season we see him back and better than ever for a new club after being a disgrace this season and being arguably the primary reason Chelsea will be without CL football for at least a year.

My son with Eden today [emoji7]

I hate Eden Hazard because he hasn't already scored 200 goals for Chelsea and he because was bought for £32 million and because other people like him and because other people hate him and because he h

One player doesn't determine whether we qualify for the Champions League or not. We've got far bigger issues in this squad than just Hazard. People who are keen to blame him, are just desperate for a scapegoat, desperate to confirm their paranoia with him.

If he gets credited with winning us the title last year then sure his no goals in any prem games this year is reason to place some of the blame for this season at his feet as well? You can't credit him when things are going well and shield him when when they aren't.

Placing SOME of the blame for the mess we're in is fine. But placing ALL? Oh no no. That's an absolute nonsense thing to do!

That would be a fair point if he was contributing something. He has zero goals and isn't even helping our other players score many to make up for his own lack of productivity. If he had scored even 10 league goals and was his unplayable self all season in terms of his dribbling we'd be in the top 4 places in this weak season.

If he gets the majority of the credit for winning us the title I think it's only fair he gets huge blame for being totally useless and causing us to crash and burn.

No. We are failing right now because almost, if not all, of the players couldn't be bothered to turn up this season. Had at least half turned up, we wouldn't be in this mess and that's without including the rubbish Mourinho caused before he got the sack. You know that.

This idea of placing most of the blame on Hazard just because he won us the title last season is silly. Sure, he has to carry some of the blame but don't we all agree he only really turned up from February onward to drag us over the line? Before that, he was only good in spades and it was Costa, Fabregas etc who put us in the commanding position at the top of the league. Don't see them getting vilified this badly.

They started poorly but have been our two best players for a couple of months now. Nearly all of the players that were shit (Costa, Cesc, Ivanovic, Cahill) have dragged themselves out of their rut and got us up the table. Hazard and Matić (arguably the two most important players to our success last season) have still not been able to muster any sort of form.

Blaming Eden for our poor season is as silly as blaming JT for losing the 2008 CL final.

So what if Costa, Fabregas etc have performed better than they did 2-3 months ago? They're still a major reason why we are where we are right now.

Not 100% obviously. Our best player being invisible for an entire season deserves a huge amount of blame.

Why are we in this mess? Quite simple, the two best players of our squad last season, Hazard and Matic, have become the worst players in the team. I bet this wouldn't have happened if we had a manager capable of squad rotation. Mourinho destroyed both players by playing them too much, utilising the most talented player in the club's history as a fullback. Who knows if Hazard will ever recover from the constant injuries.

By turining their own seasons around and showing heart, passion, and will to make our season more respectable the likes of Costa, Cesc, and Willian are at least showing they care a bit. Just look at Costa after he scored today and how he's been since José left. It's like he's got a fire under his ass and is desperate to make things right.

The attitude and lack of any kind of fight are what's frustrating me with Eden. Looks like he wants the season over more than the fans do.

Being the best player doesn't justify blaming an entire team failure on him.

Even Messi and Ronaldo can't do it on their own, you have to have a cohesive unit in your team.

Hazard just happened to be struggling under unfortunate circumstances that didn't help at all.

What is less known about the 2008 final now this is not gospel but I have heard it many times from people who have contacts in and around the club. Kalou was down to take the fifth penalty but Terry grabbed the ball off him because he wanted to go down in folklore as the man who secured our first Champions League. Well we all know what happened and who took the sixth penalty and scored yes Kalou.

None of this would have happened had Drogba not been sent off. See, you can choose to blame JT, Drogba, Avram Grant for not stepping up and make Kalou take the penalty, the entire team for not scoring more than once in 120 minutes,.. etc.

Many things can go wrong to eventually result in a fucked up situation.

Yes 2014 Hazard who had Mourinho and Drogba coaxing every ounce of effort out of him. Now he's a shadow of that player, he just doesn't look anything like a player you can depend on game in game out. We can pray for a return to form but this is not exactly an anomaly, he rarely shows up for big games and on a team like Chelsea where we don't have the depth in squad to rely on others to pick up the slack he needs to be at or near his best more often then not, especially vs. stiffer competition in Europe. Do you remember one game at any point in his career where he bossed a big European game?

Yeah but I mean look at the turbulence within the club since he's been here lol. Messi and Ronaldo all had a stable few seasons in a stable club, be it under Guardiola or SAF. Hazard came here with Di Matteo in charge then to Rafa to José to now Hiddink. Yeah you can argue world class players show up regardless of coaching but point one who's had it more up and down than Hazard. Whether at Real he'll realise his potential or here or wherever.. He needs a period of calm.

A poor backdrop going into the Euro's for him, but hopefully he'll set the world alight in France.

While the sentiment there is nice, you could argue Willian's managed to do it by himself. Where would we have been without him? Perhaps not even facing PSG because we wouldn't be in the last 32.

Not saying we should expect someone to carry the team - just saying that it's not been unheard of and those guys are far more recognised. Hazard has to shoulder some of the blame for not being consistent pre-injury and clearly not being in good shape coming into the season. At 25 it's going to be now or never in 2016-17

I didn't blame anyone just relayed what I've been told. Avram Grant had about as much influence on that team as I have that team was coached by Steve Clarke and run by Terry, Drogba, Ballack etc.

I know, mate. :) It was just a further explanation of my previous point.

This makes no sense. He already has his head in another country for sure. Will be sad to see him leave.. I just feel that it's about to go down. The worst thing is not, however, to see him leave. The worst thing is that we have to find an equal replacement. We need to have worldclass players like him in our club if we want to stay up top. Nevertheless a manager that is able to take care of the players and protect them. I wont see us finish top 4 with the likes of Pedro or Cuadrado as wingers and Matic in the middle. We have to adapt to the new style of football and that is fast.
